I am using rosters from hudl.com in hopes they are current.

This was pretty much a defensive contest with the biggest difference being the speed of Virginia or the lack of from Grundy. With 7:31 left in the opening quarter, Ethan Roberts was able to take down Dominic Norris for a three-yard loss, after Norris made a tough catch. The Bearcats would show their speed advantage with 7:17 left in the opening stanza when Patrick Poku took in a pass from Brody Jones made a move and then sprinted untouched for the eighty-one-yard touchdown. Brodie Cox made good on the P.A.T. to make this a 7-0 game.

Poku would be sacked by #68 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) for a loss of nine-yards, with 2:35 showing on the clock. The last big play in the quarter came with Virginia facing third and eleven with 1:38 showing on the clock Conner Davidson was able to move the chains by picking up twelve big yards. The Bearcats kept things going with Poku finding #22 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) for a gain of thirteen-yards. A bad snap that Poku could not handle resulted in a sack of eighteen-yards by Reid Campbell and a host of Golden Wave. Another bad snap a short time later on a punt resulted in a one-yard loss with Matthew Riley and #89 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) making the tackle.

The Grundy offense was able to mount a nice drive with #82(Not on a roster) making a nice thirteen-yard catch on third and long. Then it was a fourth and two conversion by #25(NOT ON THE ROSTER). Roberts picked up ten-yards on a nicely ran reverse play, then Roberts went the final four-yards needed to make this a 7-6 game. Roberts was stopped on the two-point conversion try by Donnie Thomas.

The second got started with a bang when Taj Streeter field the opening kickoff near his thirty and took it to the Grundy twenty-six-yard line. Davidson would be stopped for a yard loss when Logan Looney and #89 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) took him down at the 9:35 mark. From there the drive ended on an incomplete pass on fourth and eleven.  After getting the ball back Virginia was able to get a nice catch from Norris but he coughed the ball up with #25 making the recovery, with 7:55 left in the quarter. The Golden Wave would get a thirty-four-yard catch from #83 (NOT ON THE ROSTER). The drive came to an end when Norris stopped Sage Keen on fourth and one, with 3:02, left.  Nick Blankenship nearly made this a 13-6 game when he caught a pass and raced eighty-nine-yards to the four. #45 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) for Grundy saved the touchdown. Stevie Thomas would go left make a nice little move and go four-yards for the Bearcats score making this a 13-6 game with 1:27 left in the third.

The first play of the fourth Hunter Scarberry picked off a Bearcat pass and looked to have a touchdown but great hustle by Thomas who stripped the ball near the one causing the play to result in a touchback. The Grundy defense was saved from another big play when #12 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) broke up a deep pass, with 11:41 left in the game. #50 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) for Grundy would force a fumble that # 68(NOT ON THE ROSTER) pounced on to give the Golden Wave the ball on the Bearcats twenty-three-yard line. #25 (NOT ON THE ROSTER) would run to times in a row for Grundy with the last one resulting in a two-yard touchdown. Opting to go for two again cost the Golden Wave again because Davidson and Norris easily stopped Roberts keeping this a 13-12 game, with 10:31 left.

Jones would connect with Poku for a seventy-four-yard touchdown making this a 19-12 game with 10:12 left. The last 8:23 of the game had some exciting plays without either team being able to put any more points on the board. Norris stopped #25 holding him to just a two-yard gain. Then it was #25 shaking free for a gain of twelve-yards. Donnie Thomas would stop #25 for a short loss to set up fourth and twelve for the Golden Wave. #89 would pick up thirteen-yards with a nice catch with 2:14 left. The final big play of the game came with 1:21 left when #25 was stopped for a one-yard loss by Camden Principe.
