Last night I finally made the drive to Wooster, Ohio to catch a Triway game. Every since I started traveling for games, this place had been on my hit list. The game was a barn burner as far as being competitive and the large home crowd was very loud at the right times. The Manchester crowd was a little lite but they too were loud a lot as they knew when to pick things up to cheer their team on.
The Manchester defense made the first big statement of the game, when Mason Paljich sacked Ty Durbin, the multi talented Titans at the 9:22 mark of the opening quarter. The first quarter stayed scoreless, until the 3:37 mark, when Durbin ended a eight play, seventy nine yard drive by hitting Tyler Davis for a sixty eight yard touchdown. After A.J. Rhodes booted the PAT Triway led 7-0.

Ethan Wright, who is one of the most talented players I have watched this season would get Manchester on the board, with his fifty two yard gallop touchdown run just nine seconds into the 2nd quarter. He used two OJ Simpson like moves to shake off the defense before out running the remaining players that had a shot at stopping him. The PAT was blocked to keep this a 7-6 game. Wright is a Duke recruit, which makes his three touchdowns just another almost normal game, but the Triway defense did hold him under 100 yards, after all was said and done.

Triway would start their response with a Durbin to Davis pass, with Davis running a nice route to get himself wide opened. The same combo would strike again, with Davis making the catch of the game, where he used his leaping ability to beat tight double coverage. Durbin would connect with Gabe Dieringer, who used his speed to pick up thirteen yards. Durbin would take the ball to the eight yard line and a penalty on Manchester tacked on four more yards, to see the Titans up with first and goal from the four. The sixteen play, seventy eight yard drive came to a close on a four yard Durbin run. The snap was mishandled by the holder cause the game to stay 13-6, with 5:58 left in the half.
The Panthers were quick to respond needing only six plays to do so. The scoring play came on a five yard run by Wright to make this a 13-12 game.

The last 1:57 seconds would see three straight turnovers. First Hunter Foster fumbled the ball and making the recovery for Triway was Davis. The Panthers would get the ball right back, after a hook and ladder play seen the ball land on the ground with Tommy Nichols pouncing on it. The last turnover came after a nice run by Foster, who fighting for extra yards coughed the ball up in the end zone.

Durbin would throw a backward pass to Zach Miller, who faked running, pulled up, threw the ball back to Durbin for a twenty four yard gain. The drive would come to an immediate stop, when Tyler Schalmo fumbled into the end zone and the Panthers came up with it. The Titans defense would bend a little on the ensuing drive, but keep the Panthers off of the scoreboard. Schalmo would rectify himself with a sweet twenty nine yard run, then Tyler Hostetler, who had three nice runs on the drive took the ball to the one yard line. Durbin would end the seven play, forty two yard drive by going the final yard for the score, making this a 19-12 game, with 1:49 left in the third. Wright would prove to be human and not machine, when he coughed the ball up and Kobey Garver pounced on it like a house cat going after cat nip, with fifty six seconds left in the third quarter. The last score of the third quarter came on a twenty five yard field goal off of the foot of A.J. Rhodes to make this a 22-12 game. The third quarter was so long do to I am guessing here, but it seemed like ten flags was thrown.

Wight would throw a halfback pass to Jared Knight to convert a third and long and move the ball to the Titans sixteen yard line, with 7:14 left in the game. Wright would then leap over a tackler, then bull his way in for a three yard touchdown to make this a 22-18 game with 6;42 left. Knight would give the Panthers hope with his fumble recovery with 3:32 left, to give his offense a first and ten at their own twenty six. The Titans defense would stand tall again and not allow the explosive Panther defense much ground to get the ball back to their own offense. Durbin would ice the game with his fifteen yard touchdown run. The quarterback showed great patience on the run as he allowed his blockers to do their job before he broke left out running the defense for the score. The PAT ended the scoring making the final score 29-18.
