Yesterday afternoon I made the short 30 minute drive to Fulton Field located in Lancaster, Ohio to watch the battle between Worthington Christian and the home team Lancaster Fisher Catholic. This one was big as far as Harbin points goes and a big game in the Mid State League. The visitors, who came in with a 4-1 record was looking to hand Fisher Catholic (5-0) their first loss of the 2019 tackle football season.
The Warriors would make a huge statement on their first play from scrimmage with Lucas Hartings going 42 yards for a touchdown. Grant Woodfin booted the PAT giving the visitors the early 7-0 lead. Nick Krooner would get things going for the Irish, when he blasted off for a 37 yard gain, with 9:18 left in the opening quarter. Just 23 seconds later the Warriors defense would get a nice play from Braden Anderson, when he pushed Trey Fabrocini back for a 3 yard loss. Fabrocini would have the last laugh on the three play drive, when he went 30 yards for a score, after Ollie Hill was true on the PAT we had a tie game at seven. The first quarter was moving at a good speed as the scoreboard read 7:29 left and that is when Caden McColley made a leaping interception on a pass thrown by Warriors quarterback Hartings. The opening quarter had two more nice plays for us before it ended. The first came from the Warriors Braden Anderson, who took off on a run that totaled 40 yards and the last play came from Fisher Catholic’s Fabrocini who stopped Hartings with a nice tackle to being up a 3rd and thirteen from the Irish 15 yard line.

The Warriors would go up 10-7, on a 32 yard field goal off of the foot of Woodfin, just 9 seconds into the 2nd quarter. After the defense quickly shut down the Irish offense, their offense wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard again. It would take just two plays to go the 63 yards needed for the score, which came on a 63 yard pass from Hartings to Derrick D Moore. Moore might be the most talented Sophomore I have watched this season. The PAT would put the Warriors up 17-7.
Alex Bronder would get the Fisher Catholic crowd off its feet, when he broke several tackles on his way to a big gain on one of the better punt returns I have got to see this season. Before the crowd could sit back down, he would haul in a pass and take it 40 yards for a score. The PAT would make this a 17-14 game. The half ended on what seemed to be a very strange play that left everyone sitting around me somewhat confused. Woodfin attempted a field goal that was blocked by Caden McColley (I believe) with the ball not crossing the line of scrimmage Cole Nepa would pick the ball up and head down field, he would reach the 50 when he stopped, he then dropped the ball looking back down field to where there was an injured player lying on the ground. From there someone from the bench and a lot of people in the crowd yell get the ball and score, so I believe it was #11 Colton Yeager, who picked the ball up and raced to the end zone, only to have the ref ask for the ball and instruct the teams to go to the locker room.

The third quarter was just 12 seconds old, when Sam Maynard would pick off a Hartings pass. The ensuing drive would end with a punt.
With 7:14 left in the quarter Alex Bronder just missed getting a pick, only to see the ball tip off his hands and right into the hands of the Warriors Dillon Fulks for a gain of nearly 50 yards all the way down to the Irish 16 yard line. Karma has a way of showing its face even in sports and just a little over a minute later it would do just that. Moore would have the ball go off of his hands and making the pick for Fisher was, you guessed it Bronder. The quarter would end with things going very well for the Warriors. Moore would grab a catch to give the Warriors the ball at the Fisher 4 yard line. From there Landon West plowed to the one, then it was Hartings taking it into the end zone, after another PAT the Warriors would take a 24-14 lead into the final frame.

Jaiden Reynolds another Warriors sophomore would pick off a Kaden Starcher pass at the 8:34 mark, but the ensuing drive only brought a 13 yard run from Braden Anderson before it faded away. The final 5:15 would being two scores with it. Fisher Catholic closed to 24-21 on a Starcher to Nick Krooner pass then to make the final 31-21 Anderson out ran the Irish defense for a 58 yard score.

Before closing this summary up, I wanted to say since I have been asked why I make these as long a I do and why I take as many pics as I do. The short answer is that I basically do it to get as many players names it it as I can and as far as the pictures I try and include as many players and things that go on during the game, with some sites from the stadiums. All of the summary comes from notes I take during the games as well as my unofficial stats.
