Last year you guys finished 11-1, with the only loss coming to a very good Medina team (58-6). What will it take for you guys to have as good, if not a better season in 2022?

If we want the same success as last year, we need to do the same things we did last year, and that’s grind in the off-season in the weight room and on the field, and that’s exactly what we have been doing.

As you transition from wide receiver to quarterback, this will be your first year as the starter. You are replacing a very good quarterback in Nick Whitfield Jr. How much were you able to learn from him?

I feel good about this year. I can feel a lot of success coming this season. QB is second nature to me. I’ve played it all my life besides last season, so I’m very confident in my ability. And as you know, I had time to learn from the best in Nick. Through this offseason, he’s taught me a lot, and it’s helped me grow as a player.

Do you think your experience as a former wide receiver will help you predict what the receivers will do even before they do it?

Being a WR last year helped me understand the game even more than I already did, and I think it puts me in a better spot than most other quarterbacks because I understand and know the route tree and the timing of routes like the back of my hand.

On the same line, do you think it gives you an advantage over the defender?

So in that case, I do think being a WR last year is going to help me break down and beat defenses this season.

What goals have you set not only for yourself but for the team as a whole?

This season I expect a lot, not just from myself but as a team. As for ourselves, my goal is to be just as good or better than we were last year. We have a lot of good young guys that are looking to have a breakout season, and as for myself, my goal is to have just as good or better season than Nick had last year. As you said, these are big shoes to fill, and I know I’m just the guy to fill them.

When it comes to road games, where do you enjoy playing the most?

My favorite place to play was definitely Salamanca. That facility was so nice that you couldn’t ask for a better venue in high school.

What has been your favorite memory up to now on the football field? Along with your least favorite?

My favorite and worst memories from football are probably the same thing. Going to the stadium was a surreal feeling that I’m looking forward to having again, but the outcome was heartbreaking, and that’s something I hope to never feel again. This season, I and the team are coming back for vengeance, and we expect nothing less than to win the section this year.

Where is your favorite place in your town to go out to eat?

My favorite place to eat is probably Fred’s. Their wings are really good, and there aren’t many places to eat in Fredonia.

Have you watched any of the USFL games?

I have not watched any USFL games. I’ve been too busy with school and football that I haven’t had time to tune in.
