Matt is described by HC Brian Martin as a gem. Coach Martin says “Matt has an edge to him, off the field he’s the nicest kid and on the field, he runs with a purpose. He always gets the hard yards and relishes in every challenge. Matt doesn’t want to disappoint his team and will do whatever it takes for his team to be successful.

Why do you play football?

My older brothers are what got me interested into playing, loving the game and competition as a whole.

Current GPA? 

3.5 overall GPA

What if any schools have offered or expressed interest in you?

No schools have offered yet.

What do you plan on majoring in college? 

I’m currently undecided but looking into getting into finance.

Favorite class? 

One of my favorite classes is history.

Favorite all-time athlete & why?

Bo Jackson simply because I think he is the greatest athlete of all time.

Favorite moment of your HS career thus far?

Beating Episcopal Academy for the Inter-Ac championship.

What was the 2022 season like for you? 

It was awesome, senior leadership coupled with everyone buying in left no room for us to hinder ourselves out there. Week in and week out our coaches kept us prepared, discipline and motivated.

Individual & Team Goals for 2023?

For 2023, every week our goal is to compete & not make the same mistakes. Taking after our graduating seniors, rising juniors look to emulate the impact the seniors had in 2022.

Favorite game of all-time to watch (HS/College or Pros)? 

One of my favorite games to watch has to be the Eagles Super Bowl win.

Favorite meal? 

Chipotle Bowl

Favorite play to run? 

As a running back, I like any run play, but I won’t turn down an opportunity to get out there and run routes.

Hobbies outside of sports? 

Anything that keeps me moving, usually outside.

What scares you the most?

I’m definitely not a fan of spiders.

Who is the most inspirational person in your life?

I draw inspiration from a lot of people, primarily older family & coaches.

Pregame music to prepare you for games? 

Anything upbeat, a lot of Drake gets played.

Favorite teammate(s) & why?

The linemen because they put in the most work and ask for the least in return. Without them our season would have been a lot different on both sides of the ball.

Did you play little league football & if so what organization(s)? 

Yes, I played for Marple Junior Tigers through the 8th grade.

What should people know about the Haverford School program?

The coaches drive you to be your best self on and off the field as your peers give you the competition to make that happen.

Cheesesteak or Hoagie & which shop has the best sandwich? 

Definitely cheesesteak and Delco Steaks has the best sandwich.
