The Pittsburgh Central Catholic defense has been highly touted all season. Parkland found out first-hand why. Just like they did in 2007.

The Vikings defeated the Trojans 21-18 to win their fourth PIAA 4A title. Central Catholic also defeated Parkland in 2007 by a score of 21-0.

However, Parkland made it interesting in the fourth quarter with 18 unanswered points which included a recovered onside kick. Kenny Yeboah’s 64-yard touchdown pass from Davante Cross cut the lead to three points but the Vikings failed to recover the final onside kick with 1:38 remaining. The Trojans got the ball back with 0.6 seconds left but a Hail Mary was intercepted by the Vikings’ David Adams.

Cantral Catholic’s J.J. Younger rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown. Ronnie Jones added 119 yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings.

Parkland never got their offense going in the first three quarters and was held to 144 total yards, In their fourth quarter rally, they 163 yards.
