First I wanted to say thank you to injured Walnut Ridge starting quarterback, Howard Thornton for having his friend go to the press box to grab the rosters for both teams for me. I also wanted to say that Thornton was kind enough to speak to me a little during the first quarter being he set right behind me and for those of you wondering he will be back next week against Beechcroft.

Javarus Leach opened this one up with A 80-yard kickoff return for A touchdown, then it was A two-point conversion run from Antonio Felts making this an 8-0 game. The Scots defense would wast no time in shutting the Cowboys offense down to get their offense back on the field. The Cowboys defense playing with some early game emotion would force A 5-yard loss when Anthony Harding got to Leach. From there Christian Mounts would sack Leach for another loss of five-yards. The first quarter had flown by and with 2:13 left Felts would go right up the gut of the Cowboys defense for A 10-yard run. Leach would act like Bullet Bob Hayes and blast away from the Cowboys defense for A 54-yard score. Damien Whaley made this A 16-0 game on his two-point conversion run.

The Cowboys put the ball on the ground just seven seconds into the 2nd quarter and making the recovery for the Scots was Vari Adams. Leach would easily break three tackles to gain 20-yards. Daaron Brown hauled in A 12-yard touchdown pass from Leach to make this A 23-0 game, with 10:20 left in the half. The Scots defense was on the field briefly as they again shut down the Cowboys defense again. From there Leach broke two more tackles on his way to A 17-yard gain. Desmond Anderson tallied 12-yards on A fine run. Leach closed out the drive with A 5-yard score making this A 28-0 game, with 2:26 left in the half.  The half ended with A 11-yard run from Leach, who broke two more tackles.

How potent was the Scots defense in the first half? Well, they held the Cowboys offense to 28-yards on 24-plays. The Scots offense totaled 197 yards. A big factor in this one was the hard running from the Scots runners that caused over 10 miss tackles by the Cowboys.

The Cowboys put the ball on the ground again with 10:30 left in the third making the recovery for Walnut Ridge was Tavarus Robinson. The Cowboys would get A pick from Kenrell Felton but A penalty on the plays committed by the Cowboys negated the pick. Anderson would pick up 6-yards to keep the Scots drive going, at the 8:49 mark of the quarter. Leach would break two more tackles on his way to an 11-yard touchdown run to increase the Scots lead to 34-0.

Walnut Ridge would score on A 56-yard pick-six from Cross Mack making this A 40-0 game, with 5:45 left in the quarter. The Scots next score came on A 46-yard punt return by Damien Whaley, that score was followed by A two-point conversion run from Anderson making this A 48-0 game.

Anderson ended the scoring in this one with A 74-yard run to make this a 54-0 game. The Scots defense would get two more nice plays before this one ended. First, Carmello Yarbough acted like Ed Too Tall Jones as he plastered Amer Hutchinson. Anderson would get to Kenrell Felton for A short loss. The Scots defense was even strong in the 2nd half giving up just 20-yard on 18-plays.
