Saturday afternoon took me to Bradford, Ohio to watch Bradford host Bridgeport. The Railroaders and the Bulldogs came in with identical 2-1 records. This would be the first time these schools have battled on the football field for the Railroaders they were seeking their first win at their new stadium.

Griffin Trevino took the opening kickoff to the Bridgeport 40-yard line to set the tone for things to come for both teams. Facing a third and long the Railroaders called on their 6-3, 200-pound running back Tucker Miller, who used a spin move along with some power to quickly pick up 20-yards. Miller would close out the 60-yard drive with a 7-yard run, which was followed by a two-point conversion run from Owen Canan to make this an 8-0 game with 9-40 showing on the clock. Alden Kinsey, the Bridgeport Freshman quarterback was sacked by Garrett Trevino for a loss of three. Kinsey would be picked off by Griffin Trevino a little over one minute later to put the Railroaders offense back on the field. Three plays later Miller broke a tackle, again showing some nice power to go 34-yards to make this a 14-0 game with 3:51 left on the clock.

Facing a fourth and four Kinsey found Braylon Lewis for 26-yards to move the chains. The drive failed to produce points as the Bradford defense recovered nicely from the long pass play. Miller would break two tackles as he did his best Earl Campbell impression by breaking two tackles on his way to a 17-yard gain. Canan hooked up with Trey Schmelzer for 37-yards. The 4-play, 91-yard ended with a 32-yard touchdown run by Griffin Trevino. Canan would find John Troxel to convert the two-point try making this a 22-0 game with 8:37 left in the half.

On the ensuing kickoff, Xavier Robinson recovered the onside kick to put the Railroaders offense right back on the field. Two plays later Canan Schmelzer for a 32-yard touchdown to give us a 28-0 game, with 6:46 left in the half. With forty-seven seconds left in the half, Griffin Trevino picked off a Kinsey pass. Miller would go 50 yards to make this a 34-0 game as the teams headed to the locker rooms.

Avery Jackson got things going for the Bulldogs to start the 2nd half when he took the kickoff all the way to the Bradford 32-yard line. Justin Myers hauled in a long pass from Kinsey to give the Bulldogs a first and goal at the one. Michael Marshall would plunge in for the score. After Kinsey found Jaki Threet for the two-point conversion we had a 34-8 game. Canan bobbled the snap but picked the ball up to close out the 5-play, 49-yard drive with his 27-yard touchdown run to make this a 40-8 game. Kinsey would connect with Threet for 57 yards to close out the third quarter.

Nine seconds into the final frame, Kinsey went in from 3 yards out to make this a 40-14 game. Bradford scored the final points in this one on a 60-yard touchdown catch by Hudson Hill and a two-point conversion pass to Schmelzer to give us our final 48-14 score.  Miller would end his day with two sacks making him the PAFOOTBALLNEWS.COM PLAYER OF THE GAME.
