Last night I made the drive to Dayton to catch the Eagels from Chaminade Julienne play at home for the first time. The other times I have watched them, they were in the playoffs on a neutral field. The Eagels and Bishop Fenwick Falcons both came in supporting 4-2 records.

Aiden Lowery set the tone for how this game was going to go when he exploded for a 60-yard run just ten seconds off of the clock. Lowery closed the drive out with a 4-yard touchdown run. Melayna Papalios then hit the first of six point after kicks to make this a 7-0 game.

After Colin Kadel picked off an Austin Ricketts pass, the Eagles offense was ready to take flight again. Lowery broke off a nice 42-yard run after the ball was fumbled, which would set up a 15-yard touchdown run by Ethan Stacey to make this a 14-0 game with 5:23 left in the quarter.

On the Falcons next drive, they fumbled the ball, and Gunner Davis pounced on it to bring the Eagles power running offense right back on the field. Nydrell Wright would get three carries totaling 81 yards to set up the next score, which came on a 1-yard run by Lowery to make this a 21-0 game heading into quarter number two.

Ricket would throw another pick with 11:50 left in the half. The pick for the Eagels was Zyon Woods. Malichi Maddox-Ringer would set up the next score with a 20-yard run. Lowery went the final 3 yards for the score, making this a 28-0 game with 10:11 left in the half.

The Falcons would finally finish a drive with Ricket picking up 12-yards to the Eagles. From there, he capped the 10-play, 60-yard drive off with another run. Strong-leg Derek Morris made this a 28-7 game with his point-after-kick.

The Eagles responded with a 5-play, 48-yard drive that saw Wright pick up 21 yards on a very powerful-looking run. Maddox-Ringer capped the drive with a 1-yard run to make it a 37-7 game.

The half ended when Jackson Kauffman picked off the Eagles attempted halfback pass.

Ricket would hit a wide-open Shafer Janeck for a 62-yard touchdown to close the Eagels lead to 35-14 with 10:33 left in the third. The Eagles would take six plays to score again, with Stacey doing the honors on an 8-yard run, making the score 42-14. The Falcons would get a 20-yard pass from Ricket to Kauffman for the last big play of the quarter.

Both teams would score once in the fourth quarter, with the running clock being in effect for part of the quarter. Lowery caped off his gigantic night with a 36-yard touchdown, and for the Falcons, Brady Cole on a 13-yard run.

What will stick with me? The most from this game is watching Morris come out at halftime and kick to 58-yard field goals and a 55-yarder while he was warming up.
