Heading into this game North Posey supported a 13-1 record while Fort Wayne Bishop Luers were 11-3. Records though can be very deceiving at times and in the Class 2A State Championship Game on Saturday morning this was the case.

The Knights led by the best player I watched this weekend (Six Games watched) Damiun Jackson (8 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 sacks, 1 quarterback hurry, and a blocked pass). He also had a 21-yard punt return. He had a partner in crime on the defensive side of the ball Dee Hogue, who also totaled 8 tackles. Overall the defense had 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 picks, 1 pass break-up, 1 blocked pass, 11 tackles for loss, and 2 QB hurry. They gave up just three points and held the Vikings potent offense to 3.1 yards per play and a total of 179 yards.

Mickey Daring rushed for two touchdowns while gaining 59 yards on ten carries. His long run was just six yards as he found the going tough. Gio Jimenez ran 13 times for 103 yards and a score. Kohen McKenzie had a solid game 7-10 passing 126 yards with 3 touchdowns. Wes Javins, Jaylen White, and Isaac Zay each had a touchdown catch.

For North Posey, Kaleb Herke’s 30-yard field goal was the lone score. Jed Galvin had 76 rushing yards and Liam Stone ended his day with 69 yards. Galvin also hauled in five catches for 50 yards. Trace Martin led the defensive unit with 7 tackles. Jackson Graf had the only pick.

Bishop Luers scored 26 points in the second half while allowing zero to put the final touches on their state title.
