Brady Allen(Gibson Southern) and Nolan Buckman (Brebeuf Jesuit) combined for nine touchdown passes and a total of 717 passing yards. Allen threw for five touchdowns and 398 yards, while Buckman threw for four touchdowns and 319 yards. On the other side of the coin, the two quarterbacks combined for seven picks. Allen had three, while Buckman had four. The two quarterbacks threw a total of 98 passes, with Allen throwing 50 and Buckman 48.

Max Walters had a night most receivers can only dream of with 13 receptions, 210 yards, and 3 touchdowns and this still was not enough for Brebeuf Jesuit to earn the state title. Walters’s scores came on receptions of 31 yards, 11 yards, and 64 as he displayed the ability to score whether he had to go long or short. Coming into this game he had made 84 catches on the year for 1,298 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Some college will be getting an outstanding player if he chooses the football route.

Cole Williams led the Jesuit defense with 11 total tackles, while Ryan Joyce, Anthony Annee, and Devin McIlwain each had a pick. Annee was able to gain 16 yards after his pick.

For Gibson Southern Rory Heltsley also had 13 receptions good for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns. Going into this game the talented 6-4 senior had 86 catches, 1,533 yards, and 21 scores. He has many of the skills division one college coaches look for and I believe the kid has, 49  a bright future in the field at the next level. Brayden Malone also had a nice receiving game with 5 catches, 49 yards, three catches, and a touchdown. Adding three catches, 54 yards, and one score was Kaden Hurless. Adrean Lukeman led the ground attack with 70 yards and one touchdown.

Leading the defense with two interceptions was Noah Bryant. Cade Virgin and Logan Maurer each had seven tackles. Virgin had four solo to lead the team in that department.

This was one of those games where as good as the defenses were the offense was that much better. Jesuit coming in had allowed just 15.9 points a game while giving up just a little over 119 yards  Gibson Southern had allowed just 14.5 points a game and just a tad over 117 yards through the air. Allen had thrown just 3 picks all year, while Buckman had thrown 11.
