Winning state titles for a team usually does not come around often for most teams, but in Indiana, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard has made a habit of it as they won their seventeenth state title on Friday afternoon, defeating a very solid Heritage Hills team by 28 points.

The Patriots won the toss and elected to kick the ball off to the powerful Trojans offense, with the result being a 12-play 74-yard drive that came to a close on a 24-yard touchdown run by Riley Kinnett. Tony Cuniffe nailed the point after kicking out of the hold of Daniel Albright, with the snap coming from Jackson Schroeder, making this a 7-0 game with 6:45 left in the quarter.

The Patriots offense would learn early in this one that the Trojans defense was as real as advertised when they netted just 20 yards on their first drive.

In the second quarter, the lead jumped to 21-0 with Kinnett scoring twice, both runs coming from 2-yards out. Kinnett ran the ball just five times in the quarter, putting up 27 yards.

Heritage Hills would be outgained 117-92 in the quarter, with both teams running 15 plays. The Patriots rushed the ball 13 times in the quarter for 69 yards, while the Trojans threw for 84 yards.

In the third quarter, we would see the lead balloon to 28-0 when Kinnett went up the guts of the Patriots defense for a 10-yard score, where his offensive line made the run look easy with their nasty work.

The defense for the Trojans gave up just 57 yards in the quarter while their offense was busy putting up 141 yards, with eighty-nine of those yards coming via the air.

In the final frame, each team lit up the scoreboard once. For the Trojans, Aiden Arteaga connected with Jack Weybright from 11 yards out. For the Patriots, they used a 13-play, 73-yard drive captivated by a 16-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Goldsberry to Tyler Ruxer to give us the 35-7 final score.

The Trojans would total 448 yards of offense while giving up just 230. They won the rushing battle, 207 to 124, as they showed they can run and pass the ball very effectively.
