The Kiski School Cougars made their third consecutive road trip to the Eastern Pennsylvania region to take on the Wyoming Seminary Blue Knights in Kingston, PA.

The story of the game was Kiski School’s relentless defense, which came into the contest allowing only 10 points per game. The Cougar defense again posted an impressive day, shutting out the Blue Knights en route to a 20-0 Kiski victory.

The Cougars would score on their first possession of the game, marching 65 yards on 9 rushes and two pass completions by senior QB Machael Armstrong (Angola, IN), one of which went for 33 yards to senior WR Noa Seyi Onobiono (Montreiuel-Sous-Bois, France). RB Max McMillan (Morris Plains, NJ) would carry from 1 yard out to open the scoring. K Lewin Tauberschmidt (Rosengarten, Germany) would add the PAT for a 7-0 Kiski lead.

Kiski would force Sem into a 3-and out and take over after a punt at the Sem 48 yard line. Levi Porter (Indiana, PA) would immediately carry the ball around the end, outracing multiple Sem defenders to the end zone for a 48-yard TD run.  Sem would block the PAT attempt, leaving the score at 13-0 in favor of the Cougars.

Kiski’s defense would again stifle Sem, forcing a punt that would set up Kiski’s offense on their own 45.  Kiski’s running game would do the work, highlighted by a McMillan 39-yard carry, to drive to the Sem 2 yard line. McMillan would again find the end zone on a 2-yard run, and a Tauberschmidt PAT would run Kiski’s lead to 20-0.

Kiski’s defensive line dominated the interior of the line play, and defensive tackle Jeremy Bjick (Dresden, Germany), DE Hunter Richardson (Allison Park, PA) and OLB Emanuel Safikhany-I (Oostend, Belgium) would harass Sem QB Nelson Martinez all afternoon, racking up several TFLs and sacks apiece. Sem would block a Kiski FG attempt just before the end of the half, sending the teams to the locker room 20-0.

Sem would find some offensive rhythm in the second half, driving the ball into Kiski territory several times, but Kiski’s defense used its strong line play and some timely blitzing to make stops at critical times, preserving the Kiski shuout.

The win was Kiski’s third straight road victory, improving their overall record 4-2, while Wyoming Seminary fell to 1-4. The Cougars will return home to host the Blair Academy on Saturday, October 11th, while Wyoming Seminary plays host to the Pennington School on Saturday night.
