St Ed, Ohio’s best division one team went about their business at the state final team like a machine with the result being another state title win over a very gritty but outmanned Springfield team. The Wildcats stunned the smallish crowd when they went on top thanks to a 1-yard run from Jayvin Norman followed by the point-after kick by Samuel Fralick making this a 7-0 game, with 5:58 left in the opening quarter. Norman would only carry the ball five times in this one for a total of 18 yards and one score.

The Eagles wasted no time locking this one up with duel-threat quarterback Casey Bullock finding Kyan Mason from 24 yards out. Daniel Tome easily connected on the point after kick making this a 7-7 game, with 3:55 left in the quarter. Bullock did most of his damage with his feet, where he rushed for 102 yards on 17 carries, and one big touchdown. The Eagles offensive line would look strong all game long both pass protection and run blocking. That group seems to feed off of each other to a point where everyone seems to play at the same level with the whole group acting as one.

The Eagles would score twice in the second quarter with Bullock scoring from a yard out, followed by a 1-yard plunge by the ever-so-talented Marvin Bell. The two-point-after kicks would be successful giving the high-flying Eagles the 21-7 lead. Bell, looked like a college man playing against a good group of high school players his totals would tell the story. He rushed for 170 yards on 24 carries, with two touchdowns.

The only scoring in the third was a touchdown catch by Daylen Bradley from 17 yards out on a nicely thrown ball from Bryce Schondelmyer to make this a 21-14 game. Schondelmyer would go 21-30 for the game good for 206 yards and one touchdown. Bradly had 6 catches for 42 yards to go with his touchdown catch.

Bell ended the scoring with his 1-yard touchdown run with 8:06 left in the game to give us our 28-14 final score. Teryon Holt would have a game-high 11 tackles to lead the Springfield defense. He would have 5 solo tackles on the night. Tawfiq Jabbar Jr. had the only interception for the Wildcats, he would total 9 tackles on the night. For the Eagles,

Cam Drewery had 9 tackles total, with four of them being solo tackles. Wyatt Gedeon had 3.5 sacks and a total of 8 tackles. Michael Kilbane was credited with 3 sacks and 7 tackles. Gedeon and Kilbane seemed to know the Wildcats plays almost before they were run.  Troy Regovich also had a pair of sacks and Robert King was credited with half of a sack. St Ed had a total of 398 yards, while the Wildcats had 233.
