Elsewhere in Montana, on Saturday night, the Brockton Warriors hosted the Terry Terriers. Brockton, located along the northside of the Missouri River, are part of the Fort Peck Tribes. Along with small towns such as Poplar and Wolf Point, the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes comprise the Fort Peck Reservation. One small town with one small school in the reservation is in Brockton. Home of the Warriors. Playing six-man football, they hosted Terry from nearly 140 miles away. And yet both are conference members of Class C-6’s East Division.
The Brockton Warriors had just restarted their own football team in 2023. After 14 years of co-ops. The Warriors are still looking for their first victory. Going 0-8 in both 2023 and 2024, and currently sit at 0-5 after Saturday’s loss.
The Terriers, meanwhile, had also just restarted football in 2023. Now in their third year after mothballing their own team from 2018 through 2022. Instead co-oping with nearby Glendive and Dawson County High School during that time. They have found the win column, and currently sit at 3-3 in the C-6 East.
This was the closest game between the two since their recent renditions started playing in 2023. In 2023, Terry won 67-8. And 86-0 in 2024. This year the Warriors kept it closer, losing just 56-6 at home.
