On Friday night, White Sulphur Springs hosted a neutral site game between the Belt Huskies and Ennis Mustangs. Common out west, the two teams vast distance from each other playing on a Friday night led to a game site part way between the two schools. Belt sits 77 miles to the north of White Sulphur Springs, while Ennis sits 118 miles south of White Sulphur Springs.
The 8-man matchup was a replay of the 2023 Class C-8 State Semifinal, won by Belt. In this one, Belt jumped out to a near insurmountable lead, going up 38-0 late in the first half. After a touchdown to negate the running clock by Ennis, the second half was a slow, cool and breezy trudge through to the inevitable Belt Huskies victory, 54-12.
