New York Section 6 Champions crowned but no time to celebrate with NY regional round on tap.
Thursday and Friday saw NY’s section 6 championship contests at the Buffalo Bills Highmark stadium. 5 classes competed in 2 days of games and Section 6 has their 2024 champions.
In Class AA, The Lancaster Legends are Section 6 Champions after defeating Jamestown in a thriller 28-21.
In Class A, The Sweet Home Panthers are Section 6 Champions continuing their dominate season with a 34-0 victory over McKinley.
In Class B, The Health Sciences Falcons are Section 6 Champions with a gritty 22-18 victory over South Park.
In Class C, The Salamanca Warriors are back-to-back Section 6 Champions after defeating Portville 40-14.
In Class D, The Clymer/Sherman/Panama Wolfpack are back-to-back Section 6 Champions after defeating Franklinville/Ellicottville 33-8.
These Section 6 champions are all back to work this week preparing for the far west regionals on November 23rd and 24th. These regional match ups are the quarterfinal round of the NYSPHSAA state football tournaments.
Let’s take a look at the NY state brackets
The regional rounds are November 23rd and 24th.
Semi finals will take place November 29th and 30th.
The NYSPHSAA State Championships will be at the Syracuse JMA dome on December 6th and 7th.
