A game featuring 58 points started slow. Through the first half, Killdeer had a slim 12-6 lead. Thanks to several fourth down stops by both squads, neither team could really start putting up numbers. Until the third quarter. Killdeer put up three touchdowns to Trinity’s two to extend their lead to a tenuous 32-19 margin. A bit of breathing room in a game that had suddenly accelerated into a non-stop scoring fest. But the fourth quarter slowed, as the Killdeer Cowboys utilized some decent clock management, while adding one more score to captain Jaxon Reese. Killdeer wins the rematch with Dickinson Trinity, 39-19 to advance to the state semifinals.
