
Offense wins Lock Havens Spring game

The Lock Haven University football team held there annual Spring game at Hubert Jack Stadium on Sunday. This is the first Spring game under new head coach Dan Mulrooney. The offense won 13-0.
Former J.P. McCaskey kicker Samuel Hershey was 2-3 on the day on field goals and he even knocked one in from 43 yards out. Former Souderton running back Deandre Wakefield scored on a short rushing touchdown as well. Defensively cornerback Darryl Pollard got an interception on the last play of the game.
“Today was great, it was an awesome day for a lot of reasons. I’m really proud of my players and together, competing against each other. To be out here on a Sunday morning and have the fans out it was awesome to see people get locked in and see our message and our culture is starting.” Said, coach Mulrooney.
Not only was there football at Hubert Jack, throughout the game students were able to call plays and there was a competition for the best passer at halftime. For each event, there was a chance to win a gift card for a first down and a Fall season pass if a touchdown was scored. Unfortunately, there was no touchdown scored. Among these activities, the wrestling team was also recognized at halftime for being the 2021-22 MAC Champions.
“It feels good, I wanted to have fun with my teammates, enjoy being out here with my teammates, and just enjoy the crowd. It felt so good, I was happy and excited, guys making plays and I’m ready for the season.” said receiver Justin White.
The Bald Eagles season kicks off on September 3rd as they travel to Post University. The following week you can catch the Bald Eagles back at Hubert Jack Stadium as they take on Mercyhurst at 6:00 p.m.
