Saturday afternoon, Buckeye Central hosted a rare day game against Fairport Harding. The Skippers traveled over two hours to take on the Bucks on a gorgeous, though windy, day at Buckeye Central Stadium.
The game kicked off, and the visiting Fairport Harding Skippers got right to work. Abraham Castellano opened things up with a 2 yard run, while Diego Dambolena found the endzone in the first from 19 yards out on a catch to give the Skippers a 14-0 lead after one.
Brandon Gibson Jr found the endzone twice. Early in the second quarter on a 75 yard completion. His second coming in the third quarter. Austin Bogner scored for Buckeye Central on a three yard run. Cutting the lead to 21-6. Fairport’s Abraham Castellano added his second score from 4 yards out to close out the half with a stark, 28-6 lead.
Brandon Gibson Jr started the second half with an 18 yard reception. Beating the defender and backing into the endzone for the score. Shane Greenwood added another touchdown in the third quarter to start the running clock, taking a catch 25 yards for the score.
The scoring was capped by Yomar Castellano on the receiving end of an 18 yard pass.
Fairport Harding’s Brady Lawson finished with five touchdown passes on the day.
