ProTime Pick’em Challenge Week Zero Results
Marcus and Tristan Top the Table
The first week of the 2023 ProTime Pick’em Challenge, week zero if you are the PIAA (don’t get me started), are in and much like last year’s challenge ProTime Phil is not in the lead. Breaking out to a fast start with 8 out of 10 winners was yours truly and Tristan, after finishing dead last in 2022’s challenge I will take a few minutes to bask in the bright lights of the top of the table, before the inevitable slide to the bottom of the table begins. Tristan shares first place, with both of us being the only panel members that made the correct choice on a game, Tristan riding Bald Eagle to a victory and me guessing right on Warwick! Could this be the quick start Tristan and I need to run away with the title this year or is the more likely scenario that, much like the Pirates this year we are off to a quick start, only to fade into oblivion by October?
Overall the panel went 90/130 for almost a 70% percent winning percentage. ProTime, Billy the Bossman, Alex and John K are in a four way tie for 6th place, also 3rd place. Even more shocking than me leading the Challenge is that Hollywood is at the bottom of the table with 5/10 correct guesses. I predict Hollywood will blow by me in week three.
There are some huge games on the docket this week, with several 6A tilts, with significant playoff implications. The panels picks will be out on Friday, play along to see how you match up against the best high school football writers group in Pennsylvania!
The challenge will continue through the State Championships in December.
