Protime Predictions – Protime Used to Play Hooky

Protime wants to know if anyone out there in cyber land ever ‘played hooky’ from school?  Protime also wonders if the younger generation even knows what that means?  Protime was an advanced hooky player.  In fact, he once spent a whole day in a neighbor’s garage when he was in third grade.  He can’t remember what he did, but he probably slept and kept a lookout for school personnel, the neighbor, and Mom Protime.

On more than one occasion when Protime visited with cousin Dave, they played hooky from doing chores and did more constructive things like calling people to see if their refrigerator was running or if there was a john there at home or if a store had Sir Walter Raleigh in a can.  Protime and cousin Dave would split a gut telling people they better go catch the refrigerator if it was running, or where did people go to the bathroom if there was no john there, or the store had better let Mr. Raleigh out of the can before he suffocated.

Protime promises to never play hooky from prognosticating high school football games.  Last week he went 22-4 to increase his 2023 batting average to .818 (123-27-1).  This week the premier pigskin predictor has some fabulous football games to foretell.

Downingtown West 21 Coatesville 17 – In a big one down in District 1 that will have a large impact come seeding time, Protime says the Whippets win the night over the visiting Red Raiders.  And they stay unbeaten.

Central Valley 31 Montour 28 – Protime gives the nod to the Warriors over the Spartans in a key District 7 match-up.

Cocalico 28 Wyomissing 21 – Upset special here as the Eagles swoop down and tackle the Spartans giving Coach Wolfrum and Wyomissing their first loss of 2023.

South Williamsport 27 Muncy 20 – A battle of 5-1 teams in District 4 finds the Mountaineers a touchdown better than the Indians.

Bald Eagle Area 34 Clearfield 24 – For Clearfield, it’s the second game of a 4-game gauntlet that features 3 undefeated teams.  The Bald Eagles are one of them.  BEA remains unblemished by shooting down the Bison.

Neumann-Goretti 18 Bonner-Prendie 13 – Give the Saints their due as they handle a good Friar squad.

Cambridge Springs 40 Lakeview 34 – District 10’s game of the week involves two teams with a combined record of 12-0.  Protim’e coin flip has the Blue Devils sinking the Sailors.

Strath Haven 17 Garnet Valley 14 – Protime was going to pick the Jaguars but had second thoughts.  It is never good to back off a first choice but in this case the Panthers are a decent bet.  By the way, Protime never saw a jaguar go up against a panther.  Should be a great cat fight.

Avonworth 35 Beaver 24 – The Antelopes go to 7-0 as the use a second half rally to leap past the Bobcats.

Western Wayne 19 Mid Valley 14 – Good game for folks to watch up in District 2.  The Western Wildcats come back for the victory over the Spartans.

Purchase Line 14 United Valley 13 – Upset special number 2 as the Red Dragons use their home field advantage to stun the undefeated Lions.

Garden Spot 30 Twin Valley 27 – Here is another contest with two teams without a loss.  Here is another game involving Spartans.  The crystal ball says take the Spartans to beat the Raiders by three.

Elizabeth Forward 28 Mt. Pleasant 7 – The Elizabeth Forward Warriors have Mt. Pleasant’s Vikings number and they up their record to 7-0 in doing so.

Pennsbury 14 Pennridge 10 – Pennsbury’s 3 losses are to teams with a combined record of 17-1 so logic dictates that Protime go with the Falcons to fly by the Rams in a close one because Protime almost pinned the Rams to win.

Penn Cambria 26 Chestnut Ridge 22 – Cat fight number two has the Panthers clawing their way past the Lions, and in doing so, they knock the Ridge out of the ranks of the unbeaten.

Dallas 41 Berwick 28 – Dallas stays undefeated as the Mountaineers upend the Bulldogs.

Northwestern Lehigh 34 Pottsville 14 – The Tigers continue their winning ways by scratching out a convincing win over the Crimson Tide.

Farrell 29 Sharpsville 22 – District 10 has a second good game this week.  These Steelers are unbeaten but they have a very tough time with the once beaten Blue Devils.

Cedar Cliff 27 Lower Dauphin 25 – Another pair of 5-1 teams duke it out with the Colts prevailing over the Falcons.

DuBois 21 St. Marys 13 – The Beavers need a win and they get it by playing some good defense and getting some timely scores to beat the Flying Dutch.

Troy 33 Towanda 14 – The Trojans stay unblemished this year with this triumph over the Black Knights.

Conemaugh Township 20 Conemaugh Valley 18 – Township picks up their first win of the season by beating arch rival Valley.  Yes, the Indians are two points better than the Blue Jays in 2023.

East Stroudsburg South 24 Pocono Mountain East 10 – The Cavaliers get the ‘W’ over the Cardinals.

California 48 West Greene 42 – This high scoring affair will be won by the Trojans as they put the kibosh on the Pioneers.

Bishop McDevitt 42 Hershey 21 – Stone Saunders, Rico Scott, and the boys drop Hershey’ Trojans.  The Crusaders are #1 in AAAA and for good reason.
