Protime Predictions Week 6, 2021

Tagged under: Gameday Hub, News, Protime Predictions

| October 7, 2021

Protime wants to know if his readers ever saw the Tim Conway-Harvey Korman dentist skit on the old Carol Burnett show.  If some of you players, fans, and coaches have never seen it, Google it.  Protime thinks you will not be disappointed and you’ll laugh hysterically and want to show it to your friends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IUSM4EKcRI

Now recently Protime went to his dentist to have his tooth pulled.  His dentist was not a Tim Conway type of dentist, but his dentist did have to inject so much Novocain that Protime drooled for 2 days.  Now when the dentist went to pull Protime’s tooth, he pulled and twisted and pulled for 20 minutes. Finally, he put his foot on Protime’s chair for leverage and pulled for all he was worth.  Suddenly the tooth popped out and the dentist toppled over onto the floor.

Protime asked for the tooth and put it under his pillow that night and every night since, but the tooth fairy must be mad at Protime from when he was a kid and occasionally put the fake teeth from Father Protime’s extra set of dentures under the pillow hoping to get some spare change.  Speaking of spare change, it’s time for Protime’s football prophecies everyone can take to the bank.  Last week Protime went 20-8.  He is 129-37 for the year which averages out to a 77.6 percentage.  Here are this week’s picks.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic 5-1 @ Mount Lebanon 6-0 – Probably the best two 6A teams in District 7 are going to duke it out this Friday.  The PCC Vikings (#3 in PA) are led offensively by QB Payton Wehner (603 yards-5 TDs) and RB Gannon Carothers (593 yards-8 TDs).  Anthony Speca is top tackler for the invading Vikings.  The Blue Devils (#7 in PA) have been chalking up some impressive wins including laying 51 on North Allegheny last week.  QB Joey Daniels has flung the football for 914 yards and 14 touchdowns.  WR Eli Heidenreich has 571 receiving yards and 9 goal line crossings to lead all of D-7.  RB Alex Trecza has rushed for 746 yards and 9 scores.  This game goes down the final horn.  Central Catholic 38 Mt. Lebo 35.

North Schuylkill 6-0 @ Notre Dame Green Pond 5-0 – Here is a treat for high school football fans down east or anyone willing to travel a bit.  The Spartans are the top ranked AAA team, while the Crusaders are ranked 4th.  North Schuylkill has lots of balance with RB Josh Chowansky trucking for 1,077 yards and 8 TDs, while QB Jake Hall has 1,317 yards passing and 17 TDs.  WRs Jim Flail has 576 receiving yards with 8 TDs and Carl Brown has brought down 5 TD tosses.  Adam Scott is top tackler for the Spartans.  NDGP is led by QB Collin Quintano and his 1,628 yards and 20 touchdowns.  WR Tarif Muhammad has 27 grabs for 604 yards and 7 scores.  Their defense is led by Tyler Garcia.  Protime had to consult his trusty crystal ball for this prediction.  North Schuylkill 31 NDGP 28 in overtime.

Bedford 6-0 @ Central 6-0 – Ooooh baby this is a sweet match-up not only between two fantastic teams, but two phenomenal quarterbacks.  Bisons QB Mercury Swaim has 572 yards passing and 61 yards rushing.  He has thrown for 9 touchdowns and has run for another 7.  RB Trenton Price has scored 5 times.  Swaim and Trent Fisher lead the team in tackles.  Scarlet Dragon QB Jeff Hoenstine has 1,527 yards pitching the pigskin with 26 TDs and only 1 interception.  RB Parker Gregg has 526 yards running and 423 yards catching passes.  He has scored 9 TDs rushing and 5 receiving.  WRs Eli Lingenfelter and Devon Boyles have 6 TDs each.  Ethan Eicher leads Central in tackles.  Bedford is ranked 5th and Central 6th in AAA.  Coin flip has Central winning 42-33.

Governor Mifflin 5-0 @ Exeter Township 4-2 – This game features a couple of offenses that can put up some scores quickly.  GM’s Nick Singleton is the #1 rated running back in the country and is headed to Penn State.  He has 1,022 yards and 20 touchdowns in only 5 games played.  Trey Rock leads an underappreciated Mustang defense.  Colin Payne has thrown for 1,034 yards and 11 TDs, WR J.R. Strauss has collected 6 of those TD passes, and RB Eric Nangle has rushed for 538 yards and scored 7 times for the Eagles of Exeter.  Tyler Yocum heads up the Exeter defense.  The Mustangs win a shoot-out 56-45.

Farrell 4-0 @ Wilmington 4-1 – The Farrell Steelers’ 3 quarterbacks have completed 29 of 34 passes for 497 yards and 9 touchdowns.  RB Anthony Stallworth has 732 yards and 11 TDs.  WR Kylon Wilson has 14 grabs for 318 yards and 6 TDs.  Zaire Thomas and Taidon Strickland lead a very strong Steeler defense.  For the Greyhounds, RB Luke Edwards has over 500 yards rushing and has scored 7 touchdowns.  WR Cole McCallister has snagged 4 TD passes.  Farrell is the new 2A number one team and they are focused on getting back to Hershey.  Steelers 36 Greyhounds 26.

Jersey Shore 6-0 @ Milton 5-1 – The Bulldogs make the short trek to Milton to take on the Black Panthers.  Brady Jordan has thrown for 938 yards and 8 scores for Jersey Shore.  Cayden Hess has nabbed 5 of those TD tosses.  RB Hayden Packer has rushed for 512 yards and 9TDs.  Packer, Karter Peacock, and Conner Davis all have more than 40 take downs to lead the Bulldog defense.  The Panthers’ QB Xzavier Minium is a dual-threat with his 471 yards passing (4TDs) and 336 yards running (9 TDs).  Freshman Chris Doyle has a nose for carrying the mail as he has 818 yards and 7 touchdowns to his credit.  Protime has it Jersey Shore 34 Milton 19.

Windber 6-0 @ Berlin-Brothersvalley 6-0 – Big one down in District 5 where the Ramblers invade Mountaineer country.  Windber RB John Shuster headlines the #1 scoring offense in the state.  He has toted the agate for 826 yards (average of 14.5 yards/carry) and 15 touchdowns.  QB Aiden Gray has 7 touchdowns passing with WR Keith Charney snaring 5 of them.  Defensively, Blake Klosky is the man.  Berlin has a quality passing game with Pace Prosser slinging the ball for 1,023 yards and 12 scores.  WR Ryan Blubaugh has 34 catches for 521 yards and 7 TDs.  Grant Mathias, Carson Harding, and Hunter Cornell have 40 plus tackles apiece for the Mountaineers.  Protime had to flip a coin.  Windber 40 Berlin 30.

Trinity 2-4 @ Clearfield 6-0 – Protime will make an appearance in Clearfield Friday night.  Don’t let Trinity’s record fool you, they have lost all four games to opponents with winning records like Thomas Jefferson and McKeesport to name a couple.  The Hillers have some fire power on offense in the person of quarterback, Connor Roberts who has passed for 783 yards and 10 TDs.  WR Andrew Durig has five of those TD catches.  The Bison are led offensively by QB Oliver Billotte (755 yards passing-8 TDs and 8 more scores rushing the pigskin), WR Karson Kline (418 yards-4 TDs), and RB Mark McGonigal (650 yards-9 TDs).  Billotte and Shane Coudriet have over 40 tackles on defense.  Protime was really tempted to go with an upset here, but the crystal ball said no.  Clearfield 28 Trinity 24.

The Others:

Strath Haven 14 Conestoga 7 – The Panthers fend off the pesky Pioneers.
