Protime Predictions Week 8 2021

| October 21, 2021

A while back when Protime used to dabble in juggling, he decided he was good enough to juggle three of Mrs. Protime’s plates.  So, before supper he put on a nice show for the lovely Mrs. P and Protime Jr.  Now for the record, Mrs. P vehemently protested but Protime said the show must go on.  As Protime put the finishing touches on his act, one of the plates got away from him and shattered on the counter top.

There was dead silence as the audience sat there stunned with mouths agape.  As Protime sheepishly started the cleanup process, a thought hit him.  What if he were to superglue the plate back together again.  Between tears Mrs. P shook her head ‘no’ and said, “the plate is in a hundred pieces!”  Protime took that as a challenge until Mrs. P started to throw the remnants of the plate into the trash.  Protime let it go as there are some roads better not travelled.

Speaking of travelling, Protime has seen teams from 4 states and 9 of the 12 districts in Pennsylvania so far this year.  That has helped him with predictions too as he was 25-4 last week.  That translates into 179-43 for the year and a .806 winning percentage.  Here are this week’s picks from your Darling of Discernment.

Jersey Shore 8-0 @ Bald Eagle Area 7-1 – Super game on tap in Wingate this Friday.  Jersey Shore is led by quarterback Brady Jordan.  He’s thrown for 1,186 yards and 11 touchdowns.  He’s scrambled for another 643 yards and 7 more scores.  Wideout Caden Hess has 25 catches for 529 yards and 7 TDs.  Tailback Hayden Packer has rushed for 652 yards and 12 touchdowns.  He also leads the Bulldogs in tackles on defense along with Karter Peacock.  The BEA Bald Eagles counter with a phenomenal freshman quarterback in Carson Nagle.  Carson has zipped the ball for 1,397 yards and 14 touchdowns.  Wide receiver Camron Watkins has snared 7 TD passes.  RB Garrett Burns has 885 yards and 8 TDs.  Ed Greene is the leading tackler for Bald Eagle.  Protime sees it 20-13 for the Bulldogs of Jersey Shore.

Juniata Valley 5-1 @ Bellwood-Antis 8-0 – The Hornets will buzz into Bellwood with hopes of stinging the Blue Devils.  Juniata Valley’s offensive leaders are quarterback Lambert Palmer (587 yards passing and 8 TDs), wide receiver Jake Johnson (5 touchdown receptions), and running back Jayce Rand (8 TDs scored).  On defense, the Hornets’ leading stinger is Andrew Ross.  Bellwood’s offensive stars are quarterback Zach Pellegrine (825 yards passing with 10 TDs), wide out Sean Mallon (6 TD catches), and running back Connor Gibbons (857 yards rushing with 13 scores).  Brandon Cherry is a real fiend for the Blue Devils on defense.  Protime’s crystal ball says Bellwood 28 Juniata Valley 17.

Quakertown 8-0 @ Bensalem 5-3 – Quakertown is trying to remain unbeaten and secure a good playoff seed, while Bensalem is trying to secure a playoff spot.  Will Steich has thrown for 866 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Panthers of Q’town.  WR Zach Fondl has 29 catches for 576 yards and 9 scores.  RB Tyler Woodman has raced for 944 yards and 13 touchdowns.  Lex Williams heads up a tough defense.  The Owls are led offensively by QB Matt Saunders, RB Ashon Barnes, and K Tommy Hurst.  Quakertown 28 Bensalem 21.

Central Valley 8-0 @ Avonworth 7-1 – Led by Landon Alexander, the Warriors hope to go deep into the playoff again this year and defend their state AAA title.  Alexander has 1,111 yards rushing and has scored 17 touchdowns.  Quarterback Antwon Johnson has 712 yards through the air and 12 throws went for touchdowns.  Wide receiver Jayvin Thompson has 5 TD grabs.  Sean Fitzsimmons, a Pitt recruit, along with Jackson Tonya lead the Warriors in tackles.  Thompson has 7 INTs.  The Antelopes of Avonworth are led by QB Nate Harper with 929 yards throwing and 9 TDs.  Peyton Faulkner is the go to receiver.  Ian Syam has 757 yards rushing and 13 TDs.  The Antelope ‘D’ is led by Brandon Biagiarelli.  Central Valley in a squeaker, 30-28.

Central Dauphin East 6-2 @ Central Dauphin 5-1 – This is a huge game, not only for bragging rights but for seeding purposes also.  The CD East Panthers have numerous weapons with cat-like quickness.  RB Marcel McDaniels has sped for over 1,000 yards on the ground plus 7 touchdowns.  QB Terrance Jackson-Copney has accounted for 12 scores, 7 passing, 4 running, and 1 receiving.  WRs Tymere Thornton and Mekhi Flowers have caught 5 TD tosses apiece.  Max Mosey calls the signals for the Rams of Central Dauphin.  He has thrown for over 1,000 yards with 7 touchdowns, but more astoundingly, he has rushed for 522 yards and 14 touchdowns including 6 against Altoona last week.  RB Tyrell English has scored 8 times to aid the Ram offense.  Sam Sauers leads the Rams in tackles.  A coin flip has the Panthers taking down the Rams 46-41.

Redbank Valley 7-1 @ Union/A.C. Valley 6-1 – Big game for bragging rights and seeding purposes up District 9 way pits the Bulldogs of RBV against the Falcon Knights of Union/ACV.  Redbank’s quarterback, Bryson Bain, has 1,132 yards passing with 21 TD tosses.  Wideouts Chris Marshall and Tate Minich each have 6 TD receptions.  RB Ray Shreckengost has scored 9 touchdowns.  Zeldon Fisher is top dog on defense for Redbank.  QB Bailey Crissman has 9 TD passes for the Falcon Knights.  Dawson ‘Happy’ Camper leads the running backs with 9 touchdowns.  Mikey Card heads up Union’s defense and also leads the team in Rushing yardage.  The Bulldogs are playing inspired football right now, so Protime predicts them to beat the Falcon Knights 24-14.

Erie Cathedral Prep 6-1 @ Meadville 6-2 – Quarterback Carter Barnes heads up Prep’s offense with 788 yards passing and 11 touchdown tosses.  He also has scurried for 9 rushing TDs.  It appears Wakeem Page has scored each time he catches a pass which is 5 times.  RB Michael Parks is the leading ground gainer with 747 yards and 7 goal line crossings.  Kelvyn Blossey leads the Rambler defensive unit in tackles.  Meadville’s double wing-T offense does not throw much.  But they do have 3 runners with a lot of yardage.  Khalon Simmons has chalked up 989 yards and 18 TDs.  Griffin Buzzell has earned 980 yards and 13 scores.  Brady Walker has 719 yards and 14 touchdowns.  Buzzell has an amazing 82 tackles on defense.  If the Bulldogs can control the clock with their running game, it could spell disaster for the Ramblers.  Protime thinks this game will be closer than many think.  Prep 41 Meadville 34.

Central Bucks East 6-2 @ North Penn 8-0 – The visiting Patriots are led by QB Pat Keller with his 960 yards passing, 13 touchdowns, and no interceptions.  WR Quinn Moody has snagged 6 of Keller’s 13 TD passes.  RB Ethan Shine has dashed for 926 yards and 10 scores.  Shine leads the CB East defense in tackles also.  The Knights have a good one in QB Ryan Zeltt who has 1,153 passing yards and 16 TDs.  WR Levi Carroll has 28 catches for 598 yards and 9 TDs.  RB Khalani Eaton has 1,324 yards rushing with 21 TDs, scoring at least twice every game.  He also had an amazing 94-yard TD run last week.  Protime’s crystal ball advises him to take the Knights.  Final score NP 37 CBE 28.

The Others:
