122 times they’ve met, and it’s never gone to overtime. This year, for the first time ever, the Army Navy game needed extra time to determine a winner thanks in part to Quinn Maretzki’s 37 yard field goal with 1:53 left in regulation.
late in the fourth quarter, Army kicker Quinn Maretzki hit a 37-yard field goal to tie the game at 10. In overtime, Army’s Markel Johnson ran for a score to make it 17-10. Then for Navy’s first possession Xavier Arline threw his only pass of the game, a 25 yard td pass to Maquel Haywood. On Navy’s second possession in overtime Anton Hall Jr. dove into the endzone, but the ball was jarred loos by Army LB Kalvyn Crummie. The Black Knights got the win via Maretzki’s 39 yard field goal.
