Stryker Pulls Away In Battle of the Panthers

On Senior night at Perkins’ Firelands Stadium, the homestanding St. Mary’s Central Catholic squad hosted the Stryker Panthers in an 8-man game. The navy and gold clad home team started the scoring early in the second quarter. A 2 yard TD run and converted a pass for the 8-0 lead. Stryker answered quickly, with a short 1 yard run, but failed to convert. The 8-6 lead would hold until halftime.

In the second half, Stryker would dominate, with a 25 yard TD pass and a 70 yard fumble return on a bad long snap. Just as the final frame started, SMCC got on the board with a one yard run, to make it 22-14. But, Stryker would pull away with a consistent offense. Moving the ball to set up touchdown runs of 7 and 13 yards. Also adding a two point run on the first score.  In the waning minutes, the navy and gold clad squad narrowed the deficit, with a 6 yard TD run and a pass conversion to make it 36-22.
