Temple football announced the date and opponent for their 2026 homecoming game Monday morning, which will take place Saturday, October 10th, when UConn comes to Lincoln Financial Field.

The Owls are 15-5 on homecoming since 2006, though notably dropping the contest in a heartbreaker to Navy, 32-31.

Temple took a Midshipmen team that finished the season 11-2 down the wire, as this season’s projected wide receiver one, Jojo Bermudez, caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Evan Simon to, at one point, extend the Owl lead to 10 in the third quarter.

This will be the 22nd meeting between Temple and UConn, who first matched up back in 1963, when Temple secured a 9-7 victory at home. The Owls are 14-7 all-time against the Huskies, with their last matchup coming back in 2024 in East Hartford, where Temple fell 29-20.

Temple’s matchup with UConn comes as a lone non-conference matchup in the early heat of the American Conference schedule and as a staple end to homecoming and family week on North Broad. As the Owl’s will be coming off the heels of a trip to Tampa for a matchup with South Florida.

Following the homecoming matchup, Temple will stay home for a game against AAC foe Charlotte on October 17th.
