TXHSFB: Wellington Skyrockets Blast Morton, 70-0 In Area Round (PHOTO GALLERY)

Eight players find the endzone for Wellington, as they cruise past Morton. To open the game, Travon Lewis goes ten yards on the ground. Bryant Tarver gets two scores, from 28 yards in the air and 37 on the ground in the second quarter. Also in the first quarter, Nixon Folk runs in a 13 yard touchdown. And Ethan Nevarez snags a ten yard catch and run to cap the first quarter scoring at 32-0.

In the second quarter, in addition to Tarver’s second score, Jaden Combs goes 39 yards on the ground for a score. Followed by Brendan Garcia with a 72 yard streak down the right side for a score. And the first half is finished with Kamron Brooks and a 67 yard run.

Up 62-0 at the half, the second half was played with 8 minute quarters and a rather generous ticking of the clock. In the third quarter, Connor Bowen goes 46 yards up the middle for the final touchdown. Giving the Skyrockets a 68-0 lead. Late in the game, a Morton punt is blocked out of the endzone by the unrelenting Wellington defense to put the victors up, 70-0.

They’ll go on to play Gruver, who beat Ralls in game two of the Thursday doubleheader, for the Region 1 Championship of Class 2A Division II.
