First I want to thank the staff at West for allowing me in one and a half hours before kickoff to get warm-up pics and to Coach Bell for taking the time to talk to me again. Lastly, I want to thank the PA announcer for supplying me with the rosters of both teams. This game had another first for me: three safeties, all registered by the home team, the East Tigers. It marked the 2nd time I have kept my stats and watched a team finish with negative yardage.

The Tigers defense would roar in this one early with CJ Swanson teamed up with Anthony Shields to smash Tay Arnold for a loss of six yards then the first of many bad snaps resulted with Tauzaun Burns getting a quarterback sack for a loss of twenty-four yards. Shields was in the spotlight again when he blocked a punt that rolled out of the endzone to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead with 8:24 left in the fast-paced opening quarter.

Burns would glide his way to a twenty-yard then a pass from Tre Lindsay to Kemu Woods-Law took the ball down to the Bison four-yard line but from there the Bison defense stood tall and kept the Tigers off of the scoreboard. Another bad snaped ended in another safety to put the home team Tigers up 4-0 with 3:32 left in the quarter. Lindsay would connect with Burns for a touchdown then he completed a two-point pass to Solomon Vaughn putting the Tigers up 12-0.

Law picked up fifteen yards on a nice run that had a face masking call against the defense added on to the play but Arty Rand either tip a pass and picked it off or recovered a fumble I did not see the call from the ref to officially say what happened but either way, the Bison had the ball stopping another Tiger drive.

The Bison’s snap issued continued on the ensuing drive again resulting in a safety putting the Tigers up 14-0 with 7:30 left in the half. The Tigers defense continued to play hungry with Daquan Lindsay, James Whatley, and Law combined to stop Keiahllo Norvell for a two-yard loss. Both teams would come up with a nice play before the half came to a close. For East, Burns raced to a gain of thirty yards and for the Bison, Norvell and Victor Flemming came together to stop Lindsay for a two-yard loss.

Jerard Miller would get things started in the third for the Bison with an interception of a Lindsay pass. Another bad snap for Belmont resulted in the Tigers Burns making a fumble recovery. After Burns picked up fourteen yards, Lindsay plunged in for another East score to make this a 20-0 game with 9:24 left in the third. The last big play of the quarter came when Law got to Arnold for a loss of four.

The final frame would see Burns race in from seven five yards out to put East up 26-0 then a two-point conversion pass to Vaughn gave us our final score 28-0. Burns would record a tackle for loss when he got to Darnell Calahan for a five-yard loss. The PAFOOTBALLNEWS HT OF THE GAME came from Mike Pryor when he plastered Calahan after a short gain with 3:50 left in the contest.
