Hollywood’s Cutting Room Floor-Colonial/Schuylkill League Rivalry Edition

As We Enter The Last Week of the Regular Season in the Colonial/Schuylkill League So Much Yet To Be Decided.

It seems like it was just yesterday, that the Pennsylvania Football News staff was having their coaches kickoff cookout at the Forge Eatery and Pub up in Berwick in late August. In a blink of an eye, here we are in the final week of the regular season this weekend. There is so much yet to be decided as rivalry week gets under way.

In District XI the 1A, 2A, 4A and 5A will have a four team playoff. The 3A and 6A will have 8 teams involved. In the 1A classification only Minersville has clinched a playoff spot. Tri-Valley, Marian Catholic and Nativity BVM hold the 2nd thru 4th spot. Northern Lehigh is fifth while Mahaony Area comes in at sixth.

In 2A both Schuylkill Haven and Williams Valley has locked in a playoff spot. Non-league affiliate Executive Education Charter is third and Catasauqua is fourth followed by Pen Argyl, Palisades Shenandoah Valley in the fift thru seventh slot. Panther valley and Salisbury township round out the classification.

The 3A classification has six spots already taken with two available. Northwestern Lehigh, Palmerton, North Schuylkill, Notre Dame Green Pond, Saucon Valley and Tamaqua has punched their ticket for next Thursday. Jim Thorpe, Lehighton Pine Grove are in contention for last two spots with winless Wilson Area bringing up the rear.

Allentown Central Catholic, Blue Mountain, Bethlehem Catholic hold 3 of the 4 playoff spots. Bangor, Pottsville and East Stroudsburg North are battling for last playoff position.

In 5A just one Colonial/Schuylkill League team has a playoff spot confirmed and that would be Southern Lehigh. EPC South’s Whitehall also has lock. Pocono Mountain West, Pleasant Valley East Stroudsburg South and Pocono Mountain East are looking to wrap up the final two spots.

Only Eastern Pennsylvania Conference teams occupy the 6A classification playoffs.
