2023 SCHEDULE:
Offensive Keys to Winning: The combination of Dalton Clymer and Devon Hidebrand and the strength of the offensive line will be a key to capturing the school’s first state championship. Quarterback Shane Leh will need to keep playing error-free ball and use his weapons of Mason Bollinger along with Eli Zimmerman, who also leads the defense with 10 interceptions on the season. They will need to clean up some of the penalties that plagued them against Wyomissing last week. Leh has thrown for 1,697 yards on 113-of-181 passing with 23 touchdowns and just 6 picks. Clymer leads the team in rushing with 1.807 yards and 31 touchdowns. WR Hildebrand has caught 47 passes for 630 yards and scored seven times.
Defensive Keys to Winning: Controlling the line of scrimmage against an experienced Belle Vernon team, the defending AAA champion will be key. Disciplined on defense, don’t give up the big play. The Tigers will need to be aware of Penn State commit Quinton Martin. LB Blaine Snyder is the team’s leading tackler with 78. Sophomore Shane Hulmes is second on the team with 69 tackles and 3.5 sacks as well.
