Cathedral Prep 18 (1-0), Erie 6 (0-1)
Cathedral Prep opened their 2024 campaign with an 18-6 Region 7 victory over Erie High. The Ramblers led 12-0 at the half thanks to Davin Friedman’s 13-yard touchdown pass to Charbel LaTouf and Cam Christman’s 37-yard field goal. The Royals closed the gap to 12-6 in the fourth quarter thanks to Tahjae Thomas returning a punt for a touchdown. Prep put the game away in the fourth quarter when K.J. Williams scored on a 14-yard touchdown.
Sharon 55 (1-0), Mercyhurst Prep 6 (0-1)
Sharon scored 55 first-half points en route to a season-opening 55-6 victory over Mercyhurst Prep.

Grove City 21 (1-0), North East 0 (0-1)
Jaxyn Wilson rushed for 179 yards and two scores to lead Grove City to a season-opening 21-0 whitewashing of North East. Wilson scored on runs of six and two yards, while Nathan Greer returned an interception 96 yards for a touchdown. Lucas McCreadie passed for 117 yards, while Greer caught eight for 79 yards. Bryson Galloway passed for 57 yards and added 59 on the ground to lead the Pickers.
Harbor Creek 13 (1-0), Oil City 6 (0-1)
Tobias Vahey rushed for 76 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown, lifting Harbor Creek to a 13-6 victory over Oil City. The Oilers opened the scoring on Cole Findlay’s 20-yard touchdown pass to Gavin Stephens. Findlay threw for 136 yards, while Stephens caught four passes for 55 yards. Gavin Zillman scored on a 33-yard run for the Huskies to draw even at six and finished the night with 47 yards on five carries.
Conneaut 61 (1-0), Warren 0 (0-1)
Conneaut scored their first season-opening win since 2020 against Warren, with a 61-0 victory over the Dragons. Joe Furgiuele scored on an 87-yard touchdown from Ben Easler on the first play from scrimmage, and the Eagles never looked back. Easler tossed a 9-yard score to Wyatt Luke, making it 14-0, before Furgiuele scored three more times in the first half, scoring on runs ten, 50, and four yards. Furgiuele rushed for 172 yards on 11 carries while also catching two passes for 104 yards. Aiden Ford, Phoenix Humphreys, Brayden Feeney, and Nick Vennare also had rushing touchdowns. Adam Yeager led Warren with nine carries for 23 yards.
Sharpsville 32 (1-0), Girard 23 (0-1)
Jaiden White rushed for 129 yards while catching three passes for 79 yards and three total touchdowns to lead Sharpsville to a 32-23 victory over Girard. Geno Currie added 57 yards, scoring on runs of 23 and 1-yard yard. Ryan St. Julien rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns for the Yellowjackets while passing for 151 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown pass to Mason Kalicky. Aiden Cadman passed for 119 yards for Sharpsville.
Seneca 35 (1-0), Saegertown 7 (0-1)
Rylan Harwood had 166 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead Seneca to a 35-7 victory over Saegertown. Zach Moats scored a pair touchdowns while adding 37 yards rushing. The Bobcats led 27-0 at halftime. William Shaffer scored the Panthers lone touchdown in the third stanza and finished the night with 51 yards on the ground.
Iroquois 40 (1-0), Cochranton 6 (0-1)
Cole Bennett passed for 286 yards and four touchdowns leading Iroquois to a 40-6 win over Cochranton. Bennett also scored a rushing touchdown. Carmelo Hunter had a team-high 116 receiving yards with two touchdowns. Walker Carroll threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to Trent Hoban in the first quarter for Cochranton
Corry 28 (1-0), Titusville 22 (0-1)
Nolan Carey passed for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding a 4-yard run. Nick Lesher added 77 yards on the ground and a score. Jackson Covell rushed for 90 yards while adding six grabs for 78 yards as he accounted for all three Rocket touchdowns. Ian McDonald passed for 139 yards for Titusville.
Lakeview 32 (1-0), Northwestern 26 (0-1)
Lakeview gave first-year head coach Blake Reddick his first victory. Blake Skiles scored three touchdowns and accounted for 245 yards of total offense, leading Lakeview to a 32-26 over Northwestern. Skiles caught eight balls for 182 yards and two touchdowns while adding 63 rushing yards and a score. Leyton Zacherl completed 10-of-14 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns while adding 60 yards on the ground and two scores. Braden Swift threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns for Northwestern. Brody Bickenhouser, Reese Gonzales, and Avery Merritt caught touchdowns for the Wildcats. David White rushed for 63 yards and a score.
Maplewood 21 (1-0), Union City 0 (0-1)
A.J. Proper ran for 102 yards, scoring two touchdowns as Maplewood shutout Union City 21-0. Austin Brown ran for 116 yards for the Bears.
Reynolds 15 (1-0), Eisenhower 0 (0-1)
Gabe Minjarez rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown, leading Reynolds to a 15-0 victory over Eisenhower. Minjarez scored on a 13-yard run in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie. Parker Nay, who rushed for 27 yards, scored on a 2-yard run to seal the victory in the fourth quarter. Logan Penley rushed for 70 yards to lead the Knights.
Wilmington 28 (1-0), Greenville 7 (0-1)
Jamie Miller scored three total touchdowns on runs of 1 and 2 yards while also returning a punt 36 yards for a score. Chase Mitcheltree ran for 147 yards and added 50 yards receiving. Nick Solderich completed 13-of-20 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown pass to Justin Schell. Miller rushed for 64 yards on 18 carries.
Meadville 41 (1-0), Fort LeBoeuf 27 (0-1)
Jordan Lawrence rushed for 154 yards on 14 carries, scoring three touchdowns, including an 86-yard jaunt. Amari Grenaway and Jacoby Thompson also had rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs and finished the night with 58 and 66 yards, respectively. Thompson also threw a 62-yard touchdown to Grenaway. Dustin Blose rushed for 152 yards and scored twice to lead the Bison.
Fairview 35 (1-0), Slippery Rock 0 (0-1)
Ty Benford and Joey O’Reilly rushed for over 100 yards as Fairview defeated Slippery Rock 35-0. Benford rushed for 110 yards on 21 carries, scoring twice, while O’Reilly rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown. Vincent Campoli completed 5-of-6 passes for 59 yards with a touchdown to Tyler Divecchio. Fred Campagna completed 8-of-18 passes for 66 yards for Slippery Rock, while Owen Long added 28 yards rushing.
New Castle 49, General McLane 47 (0-1)
Isaac Zietz passed for 313 yards and six touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as General McLane came up short to New Castle as head coach Fred Mozzocio scored his first victory with the Red Hurricanes. Jacob Zietz caught six passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while Jared Corwin had a team-high eight receptions for 35 yards and a score. Kyle McConnell, Jackson Kiser, and Caiden Holler also caught touchdowns for the Lancers. Teige Berger rushed for 93 yards.
McDowell 34 (1-0), Woodland Hills 28
McDowell overcame a 21-13 halftime deficit to knock off Woodland Hills 34-28 Saturday night at the Wolvearena. The win gives first-year McDowell head coach Aaron Slocum his first victory. Brody Bonsell scored on an 18-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, which proved to be the difference. The Trojans took their first lead in the third stanza when Stephon Porter scored on a 3-yard run. Scoop Smith returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. The Trojans trailed 28-21 after three quarters. Porter scored on a 29-yard run and a 13-yard pas from Blayze Myers.

Cambridge Springs 67 (1-0), Kennedy Catholic 0 (0-1)
Cambridge Springs scored 54 points in the first half against a Kennedy Catholic squad that fielded only 12 players. Jordan Washington had three rushing touchdowns, scoring on runs 7, 25, and 36 yards. Brandon Hoover and Brett Kania caught touchdown passes from Morgan Applebee, and Hoover also returned a punt for a touchdown. Jon Daley also scored for the Blue Devils.
Hickory 35 (1-0), Farrell 31 (0-1)
In a battle of defending District 10 champions, Hickory edged Farrell 35-31 Saturday night at Anthony J. Paulekas Stadium, Lou Falconi Field.

Mercer 8 (1-0), Franklin 7 (0-1)
Mercer scored the first-ever 8-7 victory over Franklin Saturday night in school history. Trailing 7-6 in the fourth quarter, Parker Puskar sacked Eddie Mattocks in the end zone for a safety. Puskar also scored the Mustangs’ lone touchdown on a 5-yard run in the second quarter. Franklin took the lead late in the first half when Landon Lynch’s 46-yard touchdown to Jayden Wilmoth. The Knights were limited to negative 16 yards of offense, including minus 68 rushing yards.
