Game of the Week: It was a real doozy as Union-AC Valley came back in the waning seconds to defeat Punxsy 30-27. It was a heartbreaker for Punxsy but a morale booster and a real uplifting feeling for UACV. The game was tied at 7 after the first quarter. Union-ACV held a slim lead at halftime 16-13. The Falcon-Knights then forged ahead 23-13 at the end of three quarters and it wasn’t looking good for Punxsy. But the Chucks fought hard and scored twice to take the 27-23 lead. The second TD came with just 2:12 left in the game. UACV caught a huge break when the kickoff hit a front-line guy and the Falcon-Knights fortunately recovered at the 48-yard line. From there QB Owen Bish drove them downfield and he scored the game-winner with 26 seconds remaining.
Other Notes: Offense: Karns City, as a team, rushed for 537 yards against Redbank Valley. Defense: Central Clarion got their third shut out this season and second straight in defeating Brockway who came in averaging 30 points a game. The previous week they blanked Karns City who was averaging 43 points per contest.
