What Coach said: “This past season was Daiyaan’s first year as a starter at corner. He quickly moved up our depth chart, gained the respect of opposing teams, and as the season progressed we counted on him on a weekly basis to cover the opposing team’s best receivers. He is a sure tackler, tough, and a fierce competitor. During the offseason he has been a leader by example with his consistency in the weight room. I suspect he will also contribute more to our team this year on offense as well. As a junior, he had 49 tackles at corner with one interception and several pass break ups. Last year, he earned first team all conference and first team all-area. Lastly, he’s a strong student athlete earning 3.6 GPA.”

Why do you play football?

I play football because it’s something I enjoy. It take my mind off things. It’s like a bond you can make.

What was last season like for you?

Last season was pretty good. I had some pretty good games and I think I improved.

What are your goals for this season?

My goals for this season are to help my team in any way I can and get at least two interceptions.

What do you look forward to most on gameday?

Having good energy with my teammates and trying to get the win in the end.

What is your favorite play that you’ve made?

It was an interception during our homecoming game against Unionville. I did a baseball turn and I intercepted it.

What stadium would you love to visit for a game?

Death Valley at LSU

What is your favorite pro team?

Seattle Seahawks

What is your favorite football game you’ve ever watched?

Great Valley vs. Academy Park in my sophomore season. I didn’t play much but the intensity was incredible. We ended up winning with a field goal in double overtime.

Who is your mentor?

My dad. He’s helped me through everything, given me great advice, and he’s there for me for anything.

What is your favorite sport other than football?

Basketball

What is your favorite thing to do outside of sports?

Hang out with my friends.

What is your favorite movie?

The Longest Yard

What is your dream vacation destination?

Cancun

What is the first football game you ever watched?

Camden High vs. Camden Catholic.
