Let’s get to know Landon

Why do you play football?

I play football because there is nothing more enjoyable than doing something great and seeing your hometown cheer as loud as they can throughout the stands.

What is your favorite part about football?

My favorite part about football is preparing all summer long and seeing everything payoff when Friday night lights come around.

What is your favorite play to run?

The play I’m most fond of is the veer. Being able to out-smart the defense and have multiple options to be successful in one play is an experience like no other.

What is your favorite football memory?

My favorite football memory is scoring a touchdown and running over and shoulder bumping my head coach, Jacob Dasher.

What was last year’s season like for you?

My season last year was my best so far, throwing for 1,223 yards and rushing for 366 yards; even though it was cut short because I blew my knee out in week 8 against Everett.

Who is the best player you have ever competed against?

The best player I have ever competed against is by far John Shuster from Windber.

What are your goals for this upcoming season.

My goals for this upcoming season is to break the career passing yards record and career touchdown record here at Tussey Mountain.

What’s your favorite pre-game meal?

My favorite pregame meal is chicken bacon ranch alfredo that our boosters make for us on game days.

Is there a professional player you model your game after? If yes, who?

My favorite player growing up and to this day that I model my play style like is Michael Vick.

What is your favorite professional sports team?

My favorite professional sports team is the Philadelphia Eagles.

What is your favorite field to play at?

My favorite field to play at is our home field because nothing beats a home game on a Friday night under the lights, but if I had to pick an away field, it would be Claysburg’s new turf field.

What is your favorite all-time game you’ve played in?

My favorite all-time game I’ve played in is week 6 in 2023 against NBC which is our rival.

Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career?

The most influential person that has affected my athletic career is definitely Jermey Molosky, he is my basketball coach and my quarterback coach.

What is another sport you wish you could play, but can’t?

A sport I wish I could play is golf. I can’t play because it is during football season. My sophomore year I did play golf and football the same year, but I couldn’t make it to most of our golf matches because I had football practice.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

My most embarrassing sports moment is when I blew my knee out because I hate getting hurt in front of people and letting my team down because I couldn’t play.

What are your plans after high school?

My plans after high school are to go to Pennsylvania College of Technology and get an associates degree.
