Outlook
The defending Region 2 champions will look to keep the momentum going in 2025. Greenville returns 1000-yard rusher Rudy Gentile to the backfield, along with a plethora of talented juniors who had success as sophomores last season. Cael Thurber could be the one who takes over at quarterback after splitting time with Region 2 player of the year Nick Solderich. Other players of note are wide receivers Justin Schell and Keith Covert. Schell caught a team-high 40 passes for 879 yards and 15 touchdowns, while Covert added 11 receptions for 157 yards, including a kickoff returned for a touchdown.

Key Players Returning

Outlook
Lakeview will need to replace nine All-Region 2 players if the Sailors want to return to the playoffs. That will start with the graduation of quarterback Leyton Zacherl, who accounted for 1,861 yards and 21 total touchdowns. Two 600-yard rushes in Brayden Booher and Blake Skiles also graduated, and Skiles led the team with 44 receptions for 848 yards and eight touchdowns. Owen Reynolds and Gavin Schell give them soild defensive pieces to work around, having 90 and 68 tackles respectively last season.

Coach Comments
“We lost 10 seniors, resulting in a roster that will be in the mid-20s. As a first-year head coach, my staff and I aim to establish a foundation that builds upon our previous seasons and sets us up for future improvement. We have a lot of seniors on this squad and look for them to lead the way and be competitive in each game.”
Reynolds Raiders
Head Coach: Josh Mull
Key Players Returning
Parker Nay (WR), Maddox Snyder (OL), Xavier Zachrich (QB), Rocky Floch (TE), Gabriel Minjarez (RB), Casey Resek (OL), Jacob Blackburn (LB)
Outlook
How often does it happen that a school literally returns its entire team from a season ago? Well, that’s precisely what’s happened in Transfer. Reynolds did not boast a single senior last season and will almost certainly improve on their 6-6 campaign from a season ago if they can keep everyone healthy. Xavier Zachrich, despite missing two games with injury, still managed 1,177 yards of total offense as a quarterback with 13 touchdowns. Gabriel Minjarez led the Raiders with 1,353 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Parker Nay is their top threat on special teams and in the passing game as he caught a team-high 29 passes for 396 yards and six touchdowns while also returning two kickoffs and two interceptions for scores. Can Reynolds close the gap on Greenville and Wilmington, who also return a ton of talent? That’s a key question for the Raiders in 2025. They will also host Lucas (OH) on October 10th in place of Kennedy Catholic, who has transitioned to 8-man. Lucas was 5-6 last season, falling to Malvern High School in the playoffs. The Cubs did play a Pennsylvania school last year, beating Smethport from District 9, 48-12.

Coach Comments
“We have some big shoes to fill, losing 9 Seniors, a 1000-yard rusher, and a big line. Staying healthy will be the key. It might be a little smaller this year, but we will make up the difference with speed. The team is very athletic, and I look forward to being competitive this season. I am excited to see what Saegertown Football will bring to Region 2 this year.”

“After dealing with a lot of issues the previous season and ending up with a 0-9 record, we are looking at making a comeback. Many of our returning and upcoming players have stepped it up in the offseason, committing to be better. We are looking to improve and start building a trend where we can be competitive weekly against larger teams.”

Coach Comments
“Last season certainly taught us a lot about the guys who are returning this season. We started several first-year students last season. As the old saying goes, “there is no substitute for experience.” Having that many players returning with experience gives us great enthusiasm and excitement as we head into the coming season.”
