Highland (OH) 49, McDowell 10
The Hornets set a school record with 672 yards of offense, as McDowell was no match for Highland High School of Ohio. They led 35-0 at halftime. Casey Myser ran for 153 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns, while Lucas Gerding rushed for 61 yards, caught a 34-yard touchdown from Grady Gibb, and threw a 44-yard touchdown on a gadget play. Grady Gibb was perfect through the air as he completed all seven passes for three touchdowns and added a rushing score. James Feronti caught a 25-yard touchdown from Lucas Sult in the fourth quarter for McDowell’s lone touchdown. Joseph Clark also booted a 24-yard field goal for the Trojans.
Conneaut 48, Warren 6
Aidan Ford ran eight times for 136 yards and four touchdowns to lead Conneaut past Warren Friday night. The Eagles also got rushing touchdowns from Wyatt Luke and Chance Meader, who ran for 57 and 86 yards on the night. Luke also caught a touchdown pass from Mason Stone. Warren scored on a 59-yard touchdown pass from Brady Shene to Tommaso Clemente.
Corry 49, Titusville 10
Keaton Frisina scored five touchdowns as Corry exploded for 36 second-quarter points during a homestanding rout of Titusville. The Beavers led 6-0 after the first quarter on Frisina’s 20-yard touchdown reception from Lucas Baker. Max Chatham connected on a 38-yard field goal, pulling the Rockets to within 6-3 in the second stanza, but what followed was all Corry. Conner Sterling returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Frisina scored on receptions of three and five yards, while adding a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown. Baker added a 5-yard scoring run. The Beavers led 42-3 at halftime.
Blake Cook added a 63-yard run in the third quarter for Corry, while Weston Wakefield scored on a 10-yard run for Titusville.
Baker passed for 115 yards for Corry.
Oil City 50, Harbor Creek 14
Cole Findlay completed 7-of-9 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns, while Steven Heise ran for 77 yards and three scores as Oil City rolled past Harbor Creek. Findlay threw touchdown passes to Landon Baker and My’Saun Mills, who added four receptions for 123 yards. Dylan VanWormer added 34 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Mills also returned a punt for a touchdown. The Huskies got a pair of rushing touchdowns from Thomas Gunther and Gavin Zillman. Zillman led Harbor Creek with 64 yards.
Seneca 42, Saegertown 20
Rylan Harwood and Zach Moats combined to rush for four touchdowns as Seneca opened their 2025 season on the right foot. William Shaffer scored two rushing touchdowns for Saegertown.
Reynolds 60, Eisenhower 25
Gabriel Minjarez rushed for 285 yards and four touchdowns on 2o carries to lead Reynolds to a big victory over homestanding Eisenhower. Parker Nay added 106 yards rushing on six carries for the Raiders, who banged out 469 yards on the ground during the evening. Reynolds held a 16-13 lead after a quarter, thanks to Minjarez and Nay scoring on runs of 54 and 1 yard. The Knights answered with Logan Penley’s 1-yard run and Caleb Jakubczak’s 52-yard pass to Payton Hammerbeck. Brady Nehlen scored on a 1-yard run for Reynolds in the second quarter as the Raiders led 24-13 at halftime. In the third quarter, Jakubczak’s 1-yard run pulled the Knights to within 24-19, but it was all Reynolds after that. Minjarez scored on runs of 9, 35, and 55 yards, while Nay ripped an 80-yard scoring run. Noah Gesing added the final Eisenhower score of the evening with a 4-yard run in the fourth quarter, and Nehlen closed the scoring with a 41-yard run. Jakubczak rushed for 117 yards to lead the Knights, while completing 8-of-10 passes for 94 yards.
Girard 20, Sharpsville 14
The Yellowjackets built a 20-0 lead in the third quarter, then had to hold off a Sharpsville rally to knock off the Blue Devils 20-14. Aidan Arnold rushed for 179 yards to lead Girard, while quarterback Ryan St. Julien opened the scoring with a 2-yard pass and later threw his only pass of the game, which was completed to River Rogers for a 45-yard touchdown. Mason Kalicky added a 1-yard run in the third quarter, extending the lead to 20-0. Brady Gerlach threw a pair of touchdowns to Lincoln Breit and Landen Hassell, covering 15 and 39 yards, respectively. Geno Currie ran for 158 yards for Sharpsville.
Northwestern 39, Lakeview 0
Brody Bickenheuser ran for 125 yards and a touchdown to lead Northwestern to a season-opening shutout of Lakeview. Joe Holdsworth added four carries for 89 yards and a touchdown, while catching three passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns from Braden Swift. Swift added an 8-yard touchdown pass to Keegan Miller, and Connor Kranz scored on a 72-yard run for the Wildcats.
Wilmington 21, Greenville 7
Chase Mitcheltree ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns as Wilmington pulled away from Greenville.
It was the Trojans who opened the scoring in the rematch of last year’s District 10 final when Cael Thurber connected with Keith Covert on a 23-yard touchdown pass. Wilmington took a 14-7 lead into the locker room when Wesley Vass-Gal and Mitcheltree scored on runs of 13 and 3 yards in the second stanza.
The Greyhounds put the game on ice when Mitcheltree scored on a 3-yard run with 3:55 to play. Thurber passed for 103 to lead the Trojans, while Covert had six receptions for 73 yards.
Cochranton 20, Iroquois 12
The Carroll brothers, Noah and Walker, connected for two touchdown passes that proved the difference as Cochranton downed Iroquois 20-12. Noah Carroll completed 7-of-11 passes for 100 yards, with his brother catching four for 77 yards.
Noah hit Walker on a 16-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring with 6:18 left in the half. The two schools traded touchdowns late in the first half as Braves’ quarterback Cole Bennett threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Alderson with 90 seconds to play in the half, only to see the Cardinals respond with Noah’s 44-yard touchdown pass to Walker 40 seconds later.
Cochranton led 12-6 at halftime.
Brayden Williams added a 54-yard touchdown for the Cardinals in the third quarter, before an early safety in the fourth quarter pushed the lead to 20-6.
Iroquois, after losing quarterback Bennett to an injury, scored to make it 20-12, but Cochranton held on for the victory.
North East 36, Grove City 34
Carter Crozier scored four touchdowns to help North East nip Grove City. Crozier scored on touchdown receptions of two and 14 yards from Bryson Galloway, while returning an interception 36 yards, and a kickoff 89 yards.
Grove City led 6-3 after the first quarter, thanks to Jonah Stucchio’s 25-yard run. Thanks to Crozier’s 14-yard touchdown catch and interception return, the Pickers led 17-6 at halftime.
Levi Toth caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Heath Hohman to pull the Eagles to within 17-14, before Pascal LaPort returned a fumble 70 yards for a touchdown.
In a wild fourth quarter, Jaxyn Wilson’s 41-yard run was again followed quickly by North East, as Crozier ran the kickoff back. The Eagles again came within a score on Wilson’s 5-yard reception from Hohman, before Crozier and Galloway connected on a 2-yard pass.
Jaxyn Wilson finished off the scoring with a 15-yard run to close the scoring. Wilson ran for 180 yards for Grove City. Crozier caught six passes for 48 yards, while Galloway threw for 158 yards and added 53 on the ground.
Union City 15, Maplewood 8
Union City snapped its 13-game losing streak by knocking off Maplewood to begin its 2025 campaign. Leeroy Wolfgang ran for 72 yards and a touchdown for Maplewood. Union City stats were not immediately known for this game.
Fairport Harding (OH) 28, Cambridge Springs 22
The Skippers limited the Blue Devils to 142 yards of total offense as Fairport Harding dropped Cambridge Springs 28-22.
Jordan Washington led the Blue Devils with a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one on an interception return. He rushed for eight yards on four attempts. Brett Kania and Brandon Hoover added 59 and 47 yards, respectively.
Fort LeBoeuf 29, Meadville 22
The Bison pounded out 288 yards rushing and held off a late Meadville rally to down the Bulldogs 29-22. Skyler Sadowski rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bison. Quarterback Dominic Walters added 99 yards on the ground.
Cathedral Prep 29, Erie 23
Da’Zaire Carson’s 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth overtime capped off a remarkable night as Cathedral Prep knocked off Erie 29-23.
Carson’s run came after the Prep defense turned away the Royals to begin the third overtime. In the third overtime, Carson scored on a 10-yard run, but the extra point attempt failed. Erie had a chance to win following a 17-yard touchdown pass from Paul Johnson to Justin Parker; however, the point-after attempt was blocked.
The schools traded field goals in the first overtime, and neither came up with a score on their second possession.
Cathedral Prep led 14-0 thanks to Carson scoring on runs of two and five yards. Paul Johnson then helped Erie knot things up with a 46-yard touchdown pass to Divarri Mims and a 25-yard run.
Carson rushed for 184 yards on 28 carries, while Johnson completed 10 of 28 passes for 153 yards and rushed for 90.
Fairview 28, Slippery Rock 21
Carlo Cimino’s 4-yard touchdown gave Fairview a 28-21 comeback victory over Slippery Rock Friday night at Slippery Rock University.

DuBois 56, General McLane 35
Dubois quarterback Trey Wingard had a field day against the General McLane defense as he tossed six touchdowns and threw for 400 yards on 22 of 35 passing. The Lancers held a 14-7 lead after a quarter, but couldn’t keep pace with the Beavers’ offense.
Mercer 33, Franklin 6
Parker Puskar and Alex Leftheris each ran for over 100 yards for the Mustangs as Mercer won their 9th straight season-opening contest. Puskar ran for 118 yards, while Leftheris gained 112 yards on the ground. Leftheris opened the scoring with a 47-yard run in the first quarter, before adding runs of two and five yards in the second quarter, giving Mercer a 21-0 lead at intermission.
Franklin scored on Liam Grigsby’s 20-yard touchdown pass from Eddie Mattocks in the third quarter. Mercer added second-half touchdown runs on a 1-yard run from Rider Chiappini and a 51-yard scamper from Puskar.
Hickory 13, Farrell 12
Kelvin Morrison’s 73-yard touchdown run with 8:26 to play proved the difference in Hickory’s 13-12 victory over Farrell.

Sharon 35, Mercyhurst Prep 6
Terrian White rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries while catching a 27-yard touchdown pass to lead Sharon to a 35-6 season-opening win. White scored on a 40-yard run on the second play of the game and added a 67-yard scoring run in the second quarter to go with his 27-yard receptions from Ethan Engelmore. Engelmore added a touchdown pass of 15 yards to Rakeem Hughes and 57 yards to Kare’mez Norris.
Vinny Feliciano scored the Lakers’ lone touchdown with an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter and finished the night with 80 yards.
