Other Tidbits:

  • Port Allegany’s all-state running back, Aiden Bliss, now has 6,737 career rushing yards and trails D-9’s all-time leader, Nick Stewart of Curwensville, who has 7,324 yards.  The magic number is 588.
  • Bliss now has 103 career rushing touchdowns.
  • DuBois QB, Trey Wingard broke the school career TD pass record of 87 with 2 touchdown tosses.  He now has 89.  The old record was 87.

Games of the Week:

  1. Saw Brockway come from behind and beat Ridgway 31-24 by scoring 10 points in the last two and a half minutes.  A field goal tied it and then a short punt put Brockway in good field position.  The winning score came with just 29 seconds left.  Ridgway had a 17-7 lead in the 3rd quarter.
  2. Had Bishop Guilfoyle, the defending Class 1A champs, score two 4th quarter touchdowns to defeat Clearfield 20-13.  The Bison gave them all they could handle but fell short when BG scored with under three minutes to go.
  3. Redbank Valley came from 20 points down in the 3rd quarter to stun Keystone 37-34.  The Panthers had built up a 34-14 lead in the third, but the Bulldog offense came alive and the RBV defense shut down Keystone the rest of the way.

  • Karns City 7-2 @ Wilmington 7-2
  • DuBois 6-3 @ Hollidaysburg 9-0
