Richland Head Coach Brandon Bailey said, “Joe has a great combination of size, strength, and speed that not many high school players have. He has potential to be one of the top Edge rushers in the state this upcoming season.”


Lets Get To Know Joe

Why do you play football?

I’ve always wanted to play division 1 college football and I hope to one day do that.

What is your favorite part about football?

The teammates, the bond and chemistry that comes with playing football.

What is your favorite play to run?

When I’m lined up in the slot and I get to run a jet sweep.

What is your favorite football memory?

Scoring my first touchdown my freshman year on varsity.

What was last year’s season like for you?

Disappointing, we didn’t win the LHAC and we lost again at districts.

Who is the best player you have ever competed against?

Brady Collins (Clearfield)

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

To be all state, win districts and the LHAC.

What’s your favorite pre-game meal?

I always have chicken and rice, then right before the game in the locker room I always have a pack of sour skittles.

Is there a professional player you model your game after? If yes, who?

Yes, Tj Watt

What is your favorite professional sports team?

The Steelers

What is your favorite field to play at?

The Point Stadium because McCort is my old school and getting to play there against my old team is great and it’s also a really nice stadium.

What is your favorite all-time game you’ve played in?

Last years McCort game especially since they were talking a bunch before the game and it just felt good to beat them.

Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career?

My mom and dad, they’ve always pushed me to be the best I can in everything and they pay for pretty much all my training and my gym membership

What is another sport you wish you could play, but can’t?

I always thought lacrosse would be fun to try.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

When I sprinted out carrying the lead flag out of the tunnel and realized how far ahead I was and how dumb I must have looked

What are your plans after high school?

Hopefully play football or run track in college.
