COACH SAYS:
Clayton is a pleasure to have on the team not only as a player but a person as well. He will be a great asset this year for us both on the offensive line and defensive line. His wrestling background and physicality will make him a dominant force on the football field. We look forward to him putting together a successful season up front and being a leader four our team as a senior.

GETTING TO KNOW CLAYTON:
How long have you been playing football?
I have been playing since second grade.
What caused you to take an interest in football?
When I was younger I enjoyed watching it with my parents and thought it was really cool.
Do you have a role model or a player that you look up to?
Travis Frederick, I used to love watching him.
How will your approach to this year be different than previous years?
This season I plan to take care of myself a bit better. I plan on trying to recover better, take care of my legs, and just make sure I’m not getting dinged up which will lead to bigger stuff.
What is your end goal of your football career?
Stay healthy, stay on the field, and to enjoy my senior season.
How do you prepare yourself for gameday outside of practices?
Leading up to Friday, I like to watch film to make sure I know what the other team is going to try and do and where their weapons are at. This is key especially for being on the offensive line where the pressure is gonna come from. Then on gameday, I try find a quiet place to relax before warm-ups, to get my mind right, and get ready to play.
Have you learned anything about life through football?
That doing difficult things prepares you for life’s challenges.
As an athlete was has been your greatest accomplishment?
Wrestling at Fargo for Junior Nationals.
What’s your go-to snack if you’re hungry?
A twix bar.
Sheetz or Wawa?
Sheetz for sure.
What other interests do you have outside of football?
I do wrestling but I also enjoy hunting and fishing.
Out of NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, and NFL, which league is best and why?
NCAAF, I believe its the most competitive out of all of them.
Who’s your favorite band or artist?
Waylon Jennings.
What kind of connection do you have with your teammates?
It’s kind of like a family, like we might fight during practices or get heated towards each other, but at the same time we know we all have each other’s backs.
What are your expectations for the team this season?
I think we will perform much better than last year, and a think we have a chance to get into the playoffs.
