Coach says: “Jacob had a breakout season as a junior Defensive end and tight end. He is a suburb edge setter for us on offense and a threat in the pass game. Defensively, he is very difficult to block one on one and creates havoc in the backfield. Jacob also has the highest GPA on the team showing he’s a true student athlete.”
Let’s get to know Jake:
How long have you been playing football?
I have been playing football since I was eight.
Why did you start playing football?
I knew I wanted to play it from a young age because it was popular in our household.
Do you have a team goal this year and if so, what?
Team goal for me is to win the conference and go on to win a WPIAL and state championship.
Who or what is your biggest motivation?
Definitely my dad, he always has pushed me to fight through the hard things in life.
What is a favorite moment with the team or play you remember from your high school career?
Favorite moment was the feeling after our first playoff win against South Fayette.
What are you going to miss the most about the team when you graduate?
I am going to miss the relationships I built through all the sacrifices over the years.
Do you have any advice for underclassmen?
For the underclassmen, I would say to make sure you get the right mentality early in your football career because the mentality part is more than half the battle.
What is your favorite pre-game song?
Before every game I listen to “Your Hand in Mine” (theme song from Friday Night Lights)
What is your pre-game routine?
My pre-game routine involves watching a movie for home games, and then getting a meal provided by our boosters. After that we get warmed up, say a prayer and then it is game time.
What is your favorite professional sports team?
The Las Vegas Raiders.
What do you do for fun when not playing football?
I enjoy playing golf with my friends and skiing with my family in the winter.
What is your favorite subject in the school?
My favorite subject is history.
What is your dream job (besides a professional football player)?
My dream job would be to run a numerous amount of dairy or beef farms where I make my own dairy products or steaks.
What is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal would be shrimp penne pasta.
If you did not play football what is another fall sport you would play?
If I did not play football I would play golf in the fall.
Where is your dream place to live and why?
I would love to live in Montana.
Do you have any pets and if so, what?
I have two dogs, both chocolate labs.
What is your favorite part of being a Penn-Trafford student?
I love the people here and the friendships I have made over the years. The education I am receiving is top notch and I could not be happier.
