Week 6 of the 2025 season is going to give me my first ever look at some District 11 football. So strap in ladies and gentleman because we’ve got a real good matchup on tap, as we’re heading to Tower City, Pennsylvania to take a look at the matchup between the #3 ranked Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes and the #4 ranked Williams Valley Vikings.

What to Know About The Game

Schuylkill Haven has been in contention for the District 11 championship the past couple seasons, making it to the district title game each of the last two seasons, but who has stood in their way both times? The Williams Valley Vikings, the same team the Hurricanes are preparing to face. This matchup is very interesting as the last two years, Schuylkill Haven has won both regular season matchups, but has lost both postseason matchups between these two teams. Williams Valley is coming off a very hard fought 14-7 victory last week against Tri-Valley, being led into this matchup by their dual threat senior quarterback Brady Shomper and their sophomore running back Fletcher Thompson, both of whom have over 500 yards rushing so far this season. Schuylkill Haven is also being led in by their strong rushing attack, as their junior running back Colton Reber is fresh of a 353 yard 4 touchdown performance and currently averages almost 170 yards per game on the ground.

Final Thoughts

This series the past couple years has been dominated in the regular season by Schuylkill Haven, however this year I believe that changes. I predict that the Vikings will come away with the victory in this one, and I have no doubt that this game will be worth all the hype that it’s getting. With a matchup between the #4 and #3 ranked schools in the entire state, this game could very easily go either way, but I’ve got Williams Valley pulling out the win.
