What to Know About The Game
This isn’t the first time these two have met this season. Back in week 2, Mifflinburg crushed Danville on the road 47-13, which was actually the Wildcats first win over the Ironmen since September 5th, 2014. Now they will be meeting once again, this time in the playoffs and it will be at Mifflinburg’s home field. The past couple years, Danville had been running the table in District 4, but following the graduation of Madden Patrick and Bo Sheptock, Danville has struggled, as their 4-6 record is their worst record since 2019. Mifflinburg on the other hand had an opposite trajectory, as their 8-2 record is their best one since 2022. As mentioned before, with Madden Patrick graduating, the Ironmen had some inconsistency and the quarterback position, ultimately having senior wide reciever Carter Raup take the reps. On the other side, Mifflinburg quarterback Chad Martin is having the best season of his career in his senior year, currently leading the entire district passing yards and touchdowns.
Final Thoughts
Despite history being on Danville’s side in this matchup, this time around Mifflinburg is clearly the better team, it already has shown once before this year as we mentioned earlier. I expect Danville to play much better than they did the first time these two teams met, as when they played the first time, the Ironmen were still figuring things out. Ultimately though I do think Mifflinburg will win this game pretty comfortably and advance to the District 4 title game for the first time since 2002.
My Prediction
Danville – 17
Mifflinburg – 35
