4 game previews for week 2 of playoffs in District 3

1) 5A (2) Manheim Central vs. (7) Exeter– Manheim Central comes into this game 9-1 after having last week off with a bye. Exeter beat South Western in round one of the playoffs last week. After last week’s victory, Exeter has won 5 of their last 6 games with the only loss to undefeated Governor Mifflin.

Key to Victory– Which Quarterback will play better? Jud Novak of Central has had an outstanding season, as has Exeter’s, Colin Payne. Whoever will not turn the ball over and make the smart decisions at QB should have a better chance at winning the game.

2) 6A (5) Wilson at (1) Central York– Central York enters the game with an 11-0 record after beating Manheim Township 26-14 last week. Wilson enters the game 8-3 and is currently on a 6 game winning streak including beating York High 43-26 last week.

Key to victory– Which defense will get the most stops? Wilson has a dynamic duo running game of running back Jadyn Jones and Quarterback Brad Hoffman. Central York is led by Quarterback Beau Pribula the Penn State commit. Pribula is a classic dual-threat QB and is led by a bunch of different playmakers. Which defense steps up and makes the most plays will have the best chance at victory.

3) 6A (2) Harrisburg vs. (6) Hempfield– Harrisburg comes into this game with a 10-1 record and a 36-7 win over Carlisle last week. Hempfield beat Central Dauphin East by a score of 35-2 last week as well and comes into this game with a 7-4 record on the year.

Key to victory– Offensive and Defensive line play? Both teams are very good on defensive and offensive lines. Whoever dominates upfront will have the best chance to win this one. Hempfield was dominant on both sides of the ball last week, we will see if they can continue it this week against a talented Harrisburg squad.

4) 2A (1) York Catholic vs. (3) Upper Dauphin– York Catholic enters the game 10-0 and won last week 43-7 over Susquenita. Upper Dauphin is 9-1 on the year and beat Columbia 58-48 last week.

Key to Victory– Which defense gets more stops? York Catholic and Upper Dauphin can both put up a lot of points, but what defense can get the most stops will be the key to victory for either side.
