What to Know About The Game
The past couple weeks have been quite a rollercoaster for the Wildcats. Coming off a dominant 35-7 road victory over Montoursville who was also 3-0 at the time, the Wildcats had to travel out to face a top team in 5A, the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers, where they got blown out 49-14. After that game, the Wildcats came back home and dominated Milton 49-14 before losing a heartbreaker at home last week to Southern Columbia 21-14. This game seems like a “get right” game for Mifflinburg, and there’s plenty of reason to believe that, considering last season the Wildcats beat the Blue Jays 56-0. On that note, Central Columbia came into this season with high expectations under new head coach Ky Seesholtz, and safe to say the year has been a major disappointment. This year actually marks the second time in three seasons that Central Columbia has started 0-7, the last time being 2023 where they ended up finishing 1-9. Once you go past 2023, the Blue Jays hadn’t started the season 0-7 or worse since 2010, where they ended up finishing 0-10.
Final Thoughts
There’s little to no chance that this game ends in anything less than a blowout victory for Mifflinburg, however the Blue Jays have been able to generate offense in the late stages of games this year. I do expect Central Columbia to be able to put some garbage time points on the board but other than that, this game is without a doubt in Mifflinburg’s favor.
My Prediction
Mifflinburg – 48
Central Columbia – 7
