Fun Facts:

  • The backfield tandem of RB Eddie Gaskin & RB Herb Sample combined to rush for 3219 yards 46 touchdowns en route to an 11-1 senior season in 1997 that culminated with a 2nd consecutive Public League championship. The only loss that team had was to King during the regular season in which Eddie still ran for 110 yards & scored two touchdowns. Eddie would graduate as the city career leading rusher with 6122 yards & 87 total touchdowns. That record will stand for 6 years before being shattered by Curtis “Boonah” Brinkley.
  • Frankford Stadium is home to the Pioneers just a few blocks from the school. Legendary Coach Al Angelo has a memorial in the stadium behind the endzone and just outside of the locker room.
  • Frankford has won 26 public league titles with the last coming in 2013.
  • Current Head Coach Damon Brockington served as a captain and all city selection for Frankford at linebacker during his high school career.
