Kaleb Matis and Carter Stere sign their letter of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers.

Two Bald Eagle Area standouts signed their letter of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers Wednesday.

Surrounded by family and coaches, Kaleb Matis and Carter Stere officially signed. Matis will be heading to Lycoming and he plans on majoring in Psychology. Stere will be going to Susquehanna and plans on majoring in computer science.

Matis was a defensive end, offensive tackle, and long snapper for coach Nagle and the Bald Eagles. In his Senior year, Matis had 52 total tackles with 5.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.

“Lycoming felt like family as soon as I stepped on campus. Like another home away from home.” Matis said.

Stere was a kicker and punter during his time with the Bald Eagles and he also played soccer. On the year Stere was 42-48 on PATs and 3-5 on field goal attempts.

“I chose Susquehanna because it has a beautiful campus, is a great academic school, and has a phenomenal football program. The school just felt like a natural fit.” Said Stere.
