We are getting deeper into the playoffs and a big matchup in 2A is set for 7 PM tonight between the Bedford Bison and Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers. This game will be played at a neutral site at Claysburg-Kimmel High School.
Steelton-Highspire is looking to win their third straight state championship, this time at the 2A level. They were previously 1A, but were bumped up in this cycle. They currently are 10-2 and are coming off a big 36-7 win over Lancaster Catholic. Bedford completely turned a poor 2023 into a playoff caliber team in 2024. They are 9-3 with losses including two undefeated LHAC teams.
This should be a very competitive contest between two good teams. Bedford brings a very strong run game carried by Quincy Swaim, who has 1,637 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. Swaim also has 792 passing yards and six passing touchdowns. His go-to receiver has been Owen Tedrow who has reeled in 21 catches for 501 yards and four touchdowns.
Steelton doesn’t have any stats posted online, but they bring a very good offense. Teams have struggled to stop Steelton this year offensively.
Winner of this game will play the winner of Troy and Warrior Run.
