Belle Vernon traveled to Mt. Pleasant for a Class 3A matchup this evening.

Belle Vernon received the opening kickoff after losing the coin toss. Starting at the 18-yard line after a not-so-good return, Junior Anthony Crews broke off an 82-yard rushing touchdown to give the Belle Vernon Leopards the first score of the game and failed the two-point conversion attempt.

The Mt. Pleasant Vikings answered right back with a score of their own with a 74 receiving touchdown from Luke Nicotera from QB Cole Chatfield and would take the lead with the extra point for a 7-6 Vikings lead.

Belle Vernon with a 63-yard kick return puts them at the 20-yard line. The Leopards would later cap it off with a 20-yard rushing touchdown from Penn State commit Quinton Martin, and this time around the two point try would be successful for the Leopards.

After a punt from Mt. Pleasant, Belle Vernon drove down the field and scored off of a rushing touchdown from Jake Gedekoh to expand Belle Vernons lead to 21-7 over the Vikings.

Another Vikings punt led to another Belle Vernon touchdown, a 22 yard rushing touchdown from Quinton Martin to make the score 28-7 Belle Vernon over Mt. Pleasant in only the second quarter.

The Vikings could just not get anything going on offense other than that first drive of the game for them. Another three-and-out leads to another Belle Vernon touchdown to extend the lead to 35-7 with a 26-yard rushing touchdown from Colton Lee.

The last touchdown of the first half would come from a 16-yard passing touchdown to Quinton Martin from QB Curtis Wade to make the score 42-7 going into the half.

Straight out of the half Mt. Pleasant would go three and out and punt the ball to Belle Vernon. That punt resulted in a no-return, but the first play of that drive would result in a 67-yard rushing touchdown from Kole Doppelheuer to make the score 48-7.

Belle Vernon got the ball back and scored right away after a good punt return. A 36-yard rushing touchdown would be the touchdown to expand Belle Vernons and stop the scoring of the game with a 55-7 lead at the end of the third quarter.

There would be no scoring in the fourth quarter and the final ended with a 55-7 Belle Vernon victory over Mt. Pleasant.
