When these 2 teams met last year on the same weekend it was a very low scoring game with Dallas benefiting from Berwick’s mistakes.

This year was a different story. It started in the 1st half of the 1st quarter where it was mostly back and forth making it seem like there were more yards made by kicking than running or passing. Until when Dallas gets it on their own 33 on a return then the first interception of the game takes place and Berwick takes advantage of it and gets on the board, missing the extra point, making the score 6-0. Then when Berwick kicked back to Dallas it goes out of bounds and had to redo but 5 yards back. Preston Robbins tripped the receiver at the their 35, next play Dallas fumbles it with Berwick recovering it on the 39. The rest of the quarter is mostly continued back and forth with Dallas trying to, but not completing, getting on the board. Ending the quarter 6-0.

Fresh into the 2nd quarter and 81 yards Dallas was able to accomplish getting on the board, making it 7-6. Shortly later Berwick gets it on the 28 and under pressure Ryan Laubach gets rid of the ball and flag is thrown and intensional grounding is called, Berwick is taken back, then a false start. With Berwick managing to get it to the 4 yard line they are not able to cross the line and put another 6 on the board giving it ball back to Dallas. With not much able to be done, giving the back and forth between teams again, it took until there was 38 seconds left in the half that Berwick gets a 2nd touchdown and fails on the 2 point conversion. Dallas then makes a valiant effort to get down the field with the remaining time, but fall short ending the 1st half 12-7.

The 3rd quarter was really a very boring quarter, truly a case of the ball getting the most yards in the air from being kicked, instead of running or passing. In talking to others on the sidelines also agreed that what was to come in the 4th was much more exciting. As soon as the 4th quarter started it was intercepted when Lenny Kelly took the ball before Blane Cleaver was able to catch it getting to the Berwick 31 yard line, then the very next play Berwick jumped in and took the ball back. Having given it back to Berwick, Dallas goes for a long pass and gets it to the Berwick 17 and follows it with the next play of getting 6 more points, then followed it up with a 2 point conversion and making the score 15-12. With more failed attempts by Berwick to score until Dallas runs it 65 yards to the 3 yard line then next play makes the score 22-12 with 6 left in the game. Inspire of a coupe, fumbles and touchbacks the score remains unchanged to the end of the game.
